It does deviate slightly yes, we never got the lances pov in the novel, nor did Elijah experience symptoms of regaining his memories.

If you’re disappointed by the manhwa especially after reading the other comments, I recommend reading the novel instead. It’s way better but the contents are slightly different from the donghua and I don’t know how it’s going to play out from there... it’s better to start from the beginning. Though the donghua only covered like barely anything from the first volume (there are 6 plus an extras) of the novel, everything major happens later on (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ major twists and foreshadowing ahead but don’t worry it has a happy ending
