So yes if you read the previous topics the king will marry 3 queens because of his political position. Eventhough, he didn't marry any of them out of love he did get one queen pregnant (maybe because he needed an heir or maybe he's just sexually aroused lol). Despite this, the king still loved Paulina very much and had a very hard time cuz Paulina almost died protecting his queen and Paulina also started dating this "nice" doctor. Turns out, this doctor just wanted to marry Paulina for wealth and status. So yes, he cheated on Paulina with a maid and Paulina was very heartbroken cuz she really had the thoughts of getting married with him. Heartbroken Paulina then went drinking with the king and they ended up having sex. During this time, the king is already single because the one of the queen is executed for treason and the last queen was divorced. Paulina of course gets pregnant. So she leaves the palace and settle down in an estate because she didn't want anyone to know she is pregnant with the king's child or not she will be forced to become his concubine. One year later or so, the king comes to visit Paulina and he saw the child and identified the child as his (maybe because of the similar appearance) so he excitedly confesses his love to Paulina thinking that she will accept him for the sake of the child. However, Paulina comes to the palace with suit and armour and announced to the king that she'll forever be the king's knight. After that, the king worked very hard to change the law so that women can inherit tittle because this is the main reason why Paulina rejected him.
