The Duke really acts like every manhwa ML would act if the fml died, completely obsessed and depressed, it'd be interesting to see a character dealing with his grieve while accepting death, but she'll probably be revived.
Now, I don't get why the mom'd leave? I'm hoping is not the "he's too obsessive with me" thing cause (1) doesn't make sense and (2) she literally had 2 other kids that I hope she didn't just abandon. And I also need a reason as to why she couldn't just run away from that noble's house?
So far it's okay, but Ig she's still too young, can't take her seriously in this meeting
Did she have two other kids? The MC barely mentioned them until recently, so I’m curious if they were her older brothers or some cousins that were taken in. Does that mean that they were also killed in the past? Plus, why does it feel like she’s the heir? They allow her to attend the meetings in place of the head of the family. It would suck if they were her older brothers cause it would mean that their parents don’t really care for them like they do for the MC.
Yk I just assumed they were her kids since they have the same pink hair as the mother, but who knows, they may be cousins as well. But I'm pretty sure they were also killed, there were some flashback panels with these two as adults in a bloody background (ch 27).
In these stories, the MC tends to be the emotional core of the family, where everybody loves her more than they love each other, so it wouldn't be unusual if the parents showed more of their love for her than for her (possible) brothers. But I do think the mother had some reason to abandon them
I have no idea about who's the heir, honestly a 5-year old attending meetings already doesn't make sense, so anything can happen.
Tbh I just assumed the brothers were adopted from a branch family bc that isn't uncommon, though being full bio siblings with the MC isn't bad at all. As for the mum, I think I read somewhere in the comments that she was another extra forced to fulfill their role, just like MC in her previous life :V still a dumb trope imo since a lot of the time there is barely a reason for it or it would be solved easily with some communication
I do enjoy the premise, but it's gonna get tiring if they keep bringing annoying and dumb side characters/villains. I'd rather focus on the action aspect of the story, with the ayakashi breaking the barrier as the romance takes off
Yes, most of the female characters seem very one dimensional, even Nanao. If you take away her trauma and affection/gratitude for the ml she really doesn’t have a personality. They’re all Saints (pure souls who can do no wrong like Nanao) , Snakes (hateful opportunists who abuse others like Akemi), or Sheep (most of the other women who just go with the flow of more powerful people). They really don’t have individual goals or personalities beyond that.
Ch 66
Why did MC say "Don't wake up" to Fjord? Was it a mistranslation or am I missing something?
Def
"Don't be disillusioned" Probably was what it meant
Maybe "don't give up" ?
I like the interpretation that Lily, believing it was a dream, asks Fjord to "not wake up" as in leaving the nice dream scented of blooming flowers where there is nothing that could harm them. However, as it is actually not a dream, Fjord might have interpreted "don't wake up" as not losing track of his dreams. I believe Fjord has established his life similar to that of a nightmare, and as such, it was evident that he had goals or dreams to accomplish like the ruin of his mother's rule or at least the escape of it.
Because of what happened to Lily, he might have thought of giving up. His goals were just merely dreams he can't accomplish because someone he wished to protect the most had gotten hurt (or almost killed). Not waking up is like not giving up... I guess?
Same difference. "Don't be disillusioned" Means 'don't lose hope' 'keep dreaming' which fits the 'dont wake up' dialogue better
