Both situation are understandable. I think it's a good thing to let your kid have a good life (if she did), parents wants the best for their kids of possible, but being abandoned is not really easy too. I can't fathom how scared she was when her dad ran off without her. She's not a baby who's completely clueless, she was around five years old that understand some things. What a devastating thing to experience for both side.
