Its okay. The art is beautiful. The MC relationship development with other people is good. BUT there’s just something with her parents that I can’t seem to like even though they keep mentioning they care about their children, it appears to me it’s just a side thought. The mother particularly is pretty selfish for me, it’s okay to make mistakes but I don’t know if she really loves her child or just appeasing her guilt. From my perspective, the brother loves the MC more than the mother. The art is stunning tho. I just can’t seem to appreciate the mother-daughter relationship development since most of the time the mother isn’t really present unless it’s time to flirt/seggs with the emperor or put some performance for the sake of the royal reputation.
i mean even though she regressed (the Mom) you can't realistically just change personality overnight. She's trying her best to not revert to that past mom to the point she's over compensating it.
You know what, that's a completely fair pov. I think what adds to your thoughts is that the Empress/Mom is doing everything behind the scenes and isnt as present with our girl. To remember though, we're reading from a pov of a child (our lovely FL), and children wouldn't pay attention or know much about adult affairs unless they're pushed to act like adults (like the barrat son). Our FL has more connection with her maid, bodyguard, and brother because they're more inclined to her and younger kids and not adults if that makes sense. I also think the mom is overcompensating due to her guilt, as we've seen her remember the death of our FL as motivators to push forward. But her personality hasn't changed much, but is trying because her original personality caused our FLs death, ans that's when we had our FL confront her mother.
I didn’t mean to like, cause I don’t really agree. Though I do understand where you’re coming from. I think it’s more on the author for not showing more of their relationship through, than character itself. Because imo, 90% of her actions now are for Lyrica, I don’t think she cares all that much about the emperor
