i think everyone has a different take on religion, so what exactly is your take that you deemed this author to have made in a story she created in a world that she created? i'm curios. If you're ssaying religion can't be the bad guy then allow me to introduce you to a few history classes. Let me know when you are free. Also the FL reactionsare of someone who suffers from PTSD, was probably also recentyl betrayed by a friend from what the start looks like as well. This manga might be a bit darker for your pace and thats fine. i'm only messaging this to you because i disaprove of your "ignorant" word choice in your first sentence. Do educate yourself in proper manners even if you don't like something. I'm sure someone must have taught you that

the religion in this novel is entirely fictional, considering it's a different world in a different time. although they did use the word muslim, i simply think the author chose to use an already existing religion with roots in the culture that inspired them instead of creating a name for a new religion and thus needing to explain it.

See this is exactly where the issue lies. You were right to call the author ignorant as some people want to defend them saying that they simply used parts of Islam, to construe a different religion when it is clear that the author tried to use Islamic aspects in a negative light. Thrips may be a work of fiction but clearly it is an offensive work of fiction if the author was ignorant enough to “create their own religion” yet not able to do more research on Islamic aspects. I dare anyone here to find an instance where Islam has been portrayed in a positive and accurate light in media. It never has, so there is no excuse for using fiction as a backup to hide behind. Religion is not the bad guy, it’s the way people interpret it and use if for justifying negatively that is the bad guy. I’m sure someone taught the author here to be knowledgeable in manners and do a few google searches before portraying an existing religion (︶︿︶)＝凸
