Glasses guy needs more confidence, evil guy needs to not be as evil anymore and the little need to be treated like a person instead of an animal.

It’s still heavily inspired by DID and his magical power influences how it works. So saying „it has nothing to do with DID“ is wrong, I believe.
DID is hard to comprehend for people who have never heard of it. So most of the magical bullshit happens in order to make the audience understand what’s going on.
Him talking to other alters in the mirror is a tool to show the audience what’s happening in his head (also seen in marvels moon knight for example). Same goes for his magically disappearing/reappearing glasses.
