Unpopular opinion : I think Nahan is a great antagonist
There are times when I like Jason and times when I don't.
He is smart, blunt, and knows what he want. His clumsy way of loving is cute. And you can see his evolution as the story progress.
But he's aslo manipulative, greedy and doesn't seem to understand what the MC want/like. Doesn't have enough respect for her either : wanting someone doesn't give you all the rights.
This character is very frustatinf because I can see the potential
Here it is, the painful memories of the past wich make this present so meaninful.
These guys... I understand there's requirement to be an empress but the first one is to be loyal toward the emperor/empire

I like her character (she's bold and seems to Care about the country) but... I don't like how she wants to take davantage of him. Especially after what he already did for her. She lacks gratefulness.
"We must prevent her from using her power because she can't control it"
That the stupidest (and most ancient) mistake of all time. Making someone unable to practice is the best way to make them incapable.
