Slight spoiler.

It’s a wild ride. The story maintains tension and yet you can always feel the pathos.

It’s a tragedy, and even though the MC knows how the final act will play out, there is nothing he can do to prevent it. The reader can also predict how the final act will play out, you pray and wish that it doesn’t happen. But it does.

Who is the real sociopath? The one that acts on his darkest desires? Or the one that suppresses them and lives vicariously through others. Who is the one that is really devoid of emotions? And can someone who cares about nobody actually fall in love with someone even though he can’t adequately express it?

At the end, I felt a bit broken and empty and I could almost feel the emotions coming from the MC. The futility and tragedy of it all.

This is how you keen the reader on the edge of their seat.

This is how you write a psychological manhwa.

That ending though. Now THIS is a psychological manhwa.

Not all that boring rape shit/ toxic seme/ falling in love with rapist bullshit.

THIS messes with your head and makes you question how people get revenge, and how loss can completely and utterly destroy a person. And what it MEANS to get revenge, and the different forms revenge can take, and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get it.

The comments seem to have the same opinion. The ML is too manipulative.

And the MC assumed his friend only liked him because he was jealous/ someone took away his favourite toy. When the reality was his friend fell in love with him 5 years ago. The MC can’t blame the ML for not confessing, when he himself also did not confess.

BUT. Did the male leads ever stop and wonder WHY they like the MC? He’s your stereotypical uke - short, skinny, big eyes, shy, can’t fight, non assertive, helpless, damsel in distress.

And he has the personality of a wet dish rag.

I think the MC and ML deserve each other. The best friend deserves someone better. And someone competent.

So yeah. Dropped at Ch 31. I thought there might be a plot twist but I got nothing. I need to find a story that excites me. This ain’t it.

Spoilers in terms of characters and general themes but not storyline.

generally prefer slow burn manhwas as I like to see how the relationship develops. I like that this story took its time to really flesh out other issues and problems BESIDES the core relationship. The school scenes were uncomfortably realistic. And it’s also nice to see a realistic epilogue that isn’t all sunshine and rainbows.

I think Yuri needs psychological help, but at least he has emotions in check compared to what he used to be before. Yuri definitely changed from a tsundere to a full on yandere though. It can be cute but also suffocating. I’m glad he wasn’t a full on red flag that he could have been judging from the initial chapters. Just like Yohan, he has a tough exterior but is a hopelessly devoted seme.

As with the prequel story, it was initially difficult to distinguish between some of the characters in terms of design, but thus resolved itself as the story progressed.

The author is VERY good at facial expressions when it comes to emotional distress and desperation. We definitely saw the most desperate facial expressions from Yuri.

It’s nice to see that Yohan hasn’t changed. He’s still an idiot. But a loveable one. And still has the craziest facial expressions. Overemotional, but surprisingly perceptive when it comes to people, especially the ML. And he always has the ML’s back.

The bird version of him is my favourite character of any manga/ manhwa of all time. He’s just so round and hilarious.

I can’t be the only one that thinks the MC looks 11/12 years old right?

I could barely get through the first chapter because I don’t want to see a character that looks like this getting sexualised. In fact, I hate it.

I just want to see characters that look like men, not little boys.

Edit: I scrolled down and some people are saying that it’s the art style. Please don’t give me that crap. Because the ML looks like a man and the MC looks like a boy and it’s the same art style. There are other ways to express innocence or denote that a character is around 18-22 years old - you don’t have to make them look like young boys, especially when they are shorter than the ML.

And the people that are calling out this “looks like shota but it’s actually of legal age” trope are not imagining it. This is not the first BL to do this.

Its bc of the artstyle ^_^ He's wasn't meant to look like a 11/12 yr old tho.

Agree, it puts me off too.

Hes just a twink, if you look at the authors other work they also draw guys with other body types, its not that sus
But its fair if u cant stand that, just drop the story

I feel like we are only halfway through the story and that it will take a few years to complete. I’m disappointed but I think I’ll just wait a few years before coming back. The story isn’t perfect, but the world building is really good.

Almost every character, even in the ships, has committed unspeakable atrocities. We can sympathise with them, love them, root for them, but the only people that are truly good are probably Ian, the puppy ML, and Alex’s son (and a number of Grays like puppy ML’s family and friends).

Not everyone commits murder because they want to, but you don’t have to torture and brutalise just because you want validation. And yet in spite of this, we can feel something for characters when we see their intimate moments and they expose their vulnerabilities and past trauma.

This was one badass uke. Like he’s so obsessed with the seme that literally nothing else matters. Nothing scares him. He’s quick thinking, assertive and violent when he needs to be. It’s only when he’s with the seme that he goes loopy. Of course, this was before the relationship reached its calm stage.

I do wonder though. Why did the seme eventually fell in love with the uke? The seme was weirded out with his obsession with him in school. And he could see how obsessed he still was with him. Like, the seme was jaded because everyone had expectations of him and wanted something of him - the uke basically wanted all of him.

Also, I was scared that the seme would get into a relationship with the uke out of a sense of guilt or pity.

I think maybe what made the seme fall in love was that he could see the lengths the uke would go for him. Like the uke would literally do anything with regards to the whole Park fiasco just to get Park off the seme’s back.

I think the author mentioned the car scene was where the seme fell in love with the uke. The uke said something along the lines of he would get the seme back to how he used to be. In other words, he was going to help the seme deal with his trauma, but he was too much of a tsundere to say that, so he phrased it as if he, the uke, was being selfish and monopolising. I think, even the uke believed that he wanted to do this so he could then dominate the cocky version of what the seme used to be - of course he was fooling himself, because he had not realised his feelings as yet.

Also, I’m glad we got the seme’s perspective but I wish would could have seen what he was thinking in the earlier chapters when he invited the uke to the hotel and raped him. Because at this point, he had recognised the uke from school. So, he raped him with the knowledge of their past history as well as their current circumstances. This was the part that I didn’t quite get.

I need more. I hate that old cunt who was beating him up for no reason. But it was pretty hot that he got hard. I wonder if the uke is still taller than the seme. Hope so. Yum.

Bara Bitch May 28, 2025 12:41 pm

Not perfect but quite cute. I’m glad it wasn’t toxic though. I think what I liked the most is that the seme wanted to be the bride and make the uke the groom. It obviously goes against the uke / seme stereotype but also seems to fit their personalities more.

Also Raffy’s dad is so hot. In terms of aesthetics and personal taste I would prefer to see him with the uke BUT Raffy will end up looking like that in about 30/40 years so I’m cool with it.

Other comments have said that Raffy was arguing with his Dad online in the fan club - username EmpiresGlory or something - that’s just hilarious
