Well, apparently, a wine should not be poured that much? It need to be able to be swirlled while holding the glass or something... the taste could change when you swirl it or something...
And if you hold the area where it hold the wine with your hand, the heat from your hand could disturb the taste or something, that's why wine glass have the long thin area for holding it...(?)
The reason why we only pour little is also because if the wine stay too long inside the glass, taste will quickly change, that's why we keep them inside the bottle and only pour out the necessary amount..... or so I heard/read about it a long time ago.

I’m just backing you on this, I also don’t know much about wine, but alcohol evaporators so that’s one reason it’s important to keep in bottles closed tightly, and why after opening many people find the taste has changed.
Also, wine needs to oxidize, which is why it needs a lot of space in the glass and twirling it helps mix the air with the wine. This enables the wine to “breath” and thus gives it a richer taste. Some, even after pouring, twirl it for a few seconds and then take sips.
But usually, you drink wine with meals not on their own or you’ll get drunk fast... so idk what they’re doing haha
don't know much about wine etiquette but it's definitely upsetting that half the bottle of wine was poured into both their glasses. That's surely not what the doctor recommends..
this is their first date, they haven't eaten but have enough wine in their first glass to have them drunk out of their minds. (⊙…⊙ )
