I'm gonna spoil this for those who are interested.
First of all, there is no love triangle in this book, riftan loved Maxi waaay before they get married. Agnes has no feelings for Riftan too. they're mostly like brothers and sisters always arguing. agnes has a boyish character and speaks her mind so Maxi does overthink sometimes. but in a few chapters, she becomes more comfortable with Agnes and they will have a great time together.
in my opinion, the next few chapters are the least exciting ones, it's mostly about Maxi dealing with her inferiority complex but then the action begins and gets exciting.
for those who are wondering when will maxi tell Riftan about her past, I can also spoil it in another comment.
also guys this book is a masterpiece, if you like the webtoon go read the book it's much better!!

from the first chapter he comes off strong. maxi kept telling him no she didn’t want to have sex but riftan insisted anyways. i just didn’t like it at all because he isn’t like that in the manhwa.
So this happens around chapter 171, which is away after what we're reading now. Riftan walks in Maxi's father beating and "punishing" her. he freaks out and starts beating the shit out of the duke, he broke his jaw and nearly kill him but Elliot and Ursiline stop him.
then he and Maxi will have a long waited conversation, he asks Maxi how often the duke beat her and she confesses since she was 8 years old and she started stuttering.
then he asks her why didn't she tell him about it because if he knew he would have protected her and Maxi says: because I liked how you treated me like I was special, you're the last person I wanted to see me this way but I was truly nothing...
and then Riftan confesses that he had Maxi in his heart for a long time even before she knew he existed and says (this is one of my favourite lines from him) as if my heart no longer belongs to me, it ceased to be mine the moment I met you.. how could you think you’re nothing? How could you be nothing?

Riftan in the books is similar to the webtoon I like the book version a lot more because he's super sweet in the smut scenes and he gets better and better.

if you're referring to the honeymoon scene he asked her if she wants it. and she doesn't say no (and also spoiler: the reason Riftan was not really romantic that night was that the duke imprison his father and threaten to hang him as a criminal unless he marries Maxi and refuse to let him go until Riftan and Maxi consummate). and he always makes sure she wants it too.
anyway, the webtoon is based on the novel and the characters are portrayed the same way. so give it another chance you might like it!

before they begin he says speak if you want me to dress and leave because I can't stop if we begin, and then he asks her again if she wants him to leave. anyway, I agree the first chapter was not ideal but I don't think he forced himself since he did ask if she want him to leave, also they were both in a really bad situation. I won't judge Riftan based on the first few chapters..

omg yeah give it another chance, just don't judge Riftan until you reach chapters 9-10. my boy gets super defensive when he's nervous but he gets better after chapter 8.
Yeah, she will!! book 1 is about Maxi's journey and how she will actually start living and getting healed. in book 2 she's more confident and she tells Riftan he was the reason she decided to change and start loving herself.
I know it might seem long but that's why the story is so beautiful and realistic.

what some people fail to understand that a toxic relationship is wrong whether the other person has a dark childhood or trauma. Yes, it's understandable, Jiwoon is not doing this to abuse or use Suha or anything, he's just worried. but it's still toxic. a lot of people have these burdens and that doesn't justify them locking up their partners. I'm still hoping for Suha to stand up to Jiwoon and confront him about his behaviour because he doesn't seem to get how obsessive he has become.
right, like he's literally taking everything away from Suha. Hell he even followed him for a day. im scared that Suha's gonna end up leaving Jiwoon because of the toxicity and it'll become devistating to Jiwoon. I'm honestly really liking the story and im excited to see where the author goes with it
after reading the new chapter I'm really frustrated, this manga was one of my favorites and I loved their relationship, but their relationship is getting really toxic. so Jiwoon asks suha to quit his job and then asks the security in the building to stop suha if he tries to exit the house and inform him. I wish suha could just see that Jiwoon is different and confronts him, he doesn't have to apologize for getting out of the house or anything or always do as Jiwoon says.. I get that he's trying to understand him and don't make him worry but it's NEVER normal when someone asks you to don't get out of the house at all.

kinda, when jiwoon asks him to quit his job he says no, but then he says I would've understood if you asked me to take some time off and he apologizes for getting out of the house the last time and promises not to go out until jiwoon's more comfortable.
