hey, this is something I really dislike about mangas and manhwas (specially the chinese), and I know it's just cultural diference, but the absolute barrage of times this happens is reaaaally anoying.

It's about how the male lead is usually domineering and unaproachable, manipulating the situation to bring the female lead closer. And then the female lead forgives him every time! It doesn't matter if what he did made things better or worse for her she grumbles a bit and forgives him, Why? because at that point she is absolutely in love with the guy and that means everything he does is ok, doesn't matter if she doesn't like it, doesn't matter if she didn't consent, doesn't even matter if the guy lied to her.

And why is she in love with the guy? Heck if I know! All he did was through his power around like a big hammer, and initially takes the female leads opinion in consideration. And somehow she knows that fleeting half-smile means she is super duper important to him.
you all know the type of story I'm talking about, the ones with the CEO, the emperor with the messy harem, the demon king etc.. with the VERY misleading sumary about a woman who wants to rise to the top on her own 2 feet! (except she turns into a steriotipical tsundere with the mentality of a little girl and never wants to talk it out like a proper adult)

My question is Would you date a guy like that and love him to this extent? Because it doesn't matter how much I like a guy, if I find out he deliberatly lied to me about something important, or manipulated me, I can't trust him. And if I can't trust him how can we have a relationship?

Also WHY IS THIS GENRE SO PREVALENT?? I mean once in a blue moon I find a good one where the female lead gets to have a backbone until the end and stays mature enough to have reasonable fights and discutions with the male lead, but they are super rare.

This might be because I'm already an adult and from a very diferent cuture, but I don't want a guy that will take care of everything for me, I want a guy that trusts me enough to take care of everything with me.

sorry for the rambling, a somewhat promising LightNovel turned into this kind of crap and I'm seriously disenlusioned.

and FL is like, 'o ya sure'

then several weeks/months later ML is like, //internally yearns, 'oh my god i love her' and FL is all, ''i like you so much friend, thank you for being my fRiend, FrieND. this arrangement we have is extremely comfortable and i treasure you so much as a friend, my buddy my pal my bro my comrade. which is why you must never worry about me falling in love with you because we are GREAT FRIENDS and me falling in love with you is a scenario that will never happen lmao anw when will this secret contract end amirite'

and ML is just '' :'( </3 ...ok"

so are there any lists/tags/series/webtoon/manga specifically with that type of scene. I WOULD ALSO BE GOOD WITH THIS ON BL

This is one of those moments where I am not shipping for the second ML, and thats surprisingly refreshing because I always do.
