I don’t think the ending was bad, it actually surprised me a bit. This story does have a more serious tone so a happier ending would’ve felt a bit out of place.
I’m glad Noah got the “closure” he needed with his father. I think the ending would’ve been a bit more satisfying to me if Dylan understood that Noah didn’t just do that because “he can’t live differently” or that “he can’t change”, I feel like he WAS ready to change but he lost control when he saw the man that abused him for years, honestly I can’t blame him for that. He killed his abusive father and a guy who beat his wife multiple times and from what he said his other victims weren’t good people either so am I not supposed to support him? lol
Dylan was a very traumatized character. Imagine being kidnapped and feeling conflicted about your feelings for the man who kidnapped you, and if that wasn’t enough you’d keep having hallucinations of him even after his death (a death that you couldn’t even remember if you were responsible for). That translator’s note saying he had the worst character development ever did bother me a bit…
And yes I also feel bad for Jade but we have to agree that he got the best ending out of everyone lol I try to see the whole situation as him getting the chance to say a proper goodbye to Scott… kind of. I’m being a Noah defender here again but he did feel very bad for Jade and did wish that he could’ve lived a happy life with him but unfortunately he knew that wouldn’t work out for any of them.
Oh well I didn’t expect this review to be so long but here it is. It was a good story! It’s not a story where you can look at a character and say they are totally bad or good because their situations are not simple, it’s a story that makes you reflect a bit after finishing it and I think that’s great.
This is everything I’ve ever wanted thank you….. I think I got a headache from laughing so much LMAO i’m just a tiny bit sad we didn’t get the 18+ scenes because i KNOWWW they’d be incredibly hot in this art style ╥﹏╥ but the action scenes were amazing and taeman covered in blood was too sexy…
I just feel like the ending was a little bit rushed so I’d have loved some side stories but this definitely became one of my favorite stories ever, I’ll be reading it again soon.
Very cute but after finishing this it still feels like it’s missing something… I think the drama with his parents could’ve been explored in a better way. Also, all that talk about Hanbin’s health condition only for him to pass out once and get over it real quick so idk, it was a bit underwhelming.
This was so cute… I love them so much… that “15 years later” bonus pic made me drop my phone… Need some bonus stories with them looking like that
I’m glad I didn’t drop this lol I didn’t really enjoy the first chapters but things are getting interesting now
From the comments here people came to read a horror/zombie apocalypse story hoping it’s all sunshine and rainbows omg don’t be disappointed when it turns out he can be a little evil guys…
I keep rereading this one and I keep forgetting to leave a comment (maybe because it always leaves me sobbing).
Now with spoilers ahead:
I think what I love about this manga is that even thought it is a work about bringing someone back from the dead, it still feels real. Their emotions feel real. I can understand someone wanting an ending that is a bit more dramatic but to me it felt right.
Mamiya loved Sada, even though it took him a while to understand and admit it, he truly loved him in his own twisted way. He wanted to 'destroy' the rest world so Sada could live freely and wouldn't have to hide anymore. That became his only objective. And once he didn't have Sada with him anymore, there was no point to continue with the research he spent most of his life on.
For me, this part was the most heartbreaking one. Sada spent his last moments asking him to take care of himself, to talk to his family, to go make friends, to not drink too much, and then Mamiya couldn't do any of that
Mamiya is a horrible person yes lol but I think the story did a good job at showing WHY he is the way he is (it doesn't justify the things he did, but explains it), and Sada understood him too.
I hope this rant makes sense lol I've been thinking about this manga for weeks now, and I'll keep thinking about it for a long time. I love it a lot.
People are being so dramatic in the comments lol I thought this would be a lot worse.
1. People hating on Ai because he slept with someone else while having feelings for Hikaru. Oh my god. He only did because he thought Hikaru only saw him as family and would not look at him as anything else. It’s the classic “he can’t know about my true feelings because it’ll ruin our relationship”. He only did it to try to control his desire for Hikaru, the other guy literally said that.
2. Ai is obviously not right in the head. He’s crazy. He's obsessed. His brain is full of Hikaru and nothing else. You can’t expect him to act like a normal person. The rape scenes were definitely unnecessary but, once again, that’s classic yaoi for you. I understand what the author tried to do (1st: show how obsessed Ai was / 2nd: show that Ai really forgot about Hikaru “Ai wouldn’t do something like that”) but as always, there were better ways to do it.
I LOVE THEM SO MUCH I keep coming back to reread this hopefully we’ll get some side stories soon!!
Leo did annoy me in the beginning (the classic character who is doing everything wrong and is the only one who doesn’t notice it) but he's too cute so it’s hard to stay mad at him ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ the chapters of them getting back together made me cry a bit ngl
