I liked it but I didn't really get what happened with Shigure... why was he always sad and had dead eyes? Was it because he didn't want to be a yakuza but his family didn't let him walk away? But then why did he cut his finger and didn't want to reattach it? I thought it was a sign of committment to the yakuza. And also why/how did he die at the end? What is the involvement od Shiro and Haru in Shigure's death?? I don't understand any of this, help please:(((

Shigure said that he was treated like a dog, rumors say that he does all the dirty stuff. That shit is enough to make his life spiritless and miserable, especially if it's something you don't like to do but you're compelled to have it done.

Cutting one's pinky finger in Yakuza is a way to atone for offenses to another, a way to be punished or to show sincere apology and remorse. Not wanting to get his pinky reattach is his form of retaliation since he wants to get a way from the group (when there was a chance he grabbed it, this is the issue with the drugs)

I think Shigure died because someone killed him. Shigure wants to save Shiro, by running away with him. Take note that Shiro is a property of the other yakuza group (he has debt to pay hence the prostitution) and it's exactly because of that that got him killed. Now, Haru feels guilty because he was the one who introduced Shiro to Shigure, he was the one who told Shigure to tale care of Shiro. That's why he blames himself for his death. Because if Shigure didn't plan to run away with Shiro, he wouldn't have die a futile death.
