First, i find it really helps to determine a story outline, layout and lenght. By this I mean, think of 2-4 key main points that happen in the plot of your story. Then, determine the way the layout will flow. Usually I like to graph something like this roughly out: *ill include an image*. I never actually planned to 'come out' as such. Fortunately for me, my family are very progressive and things like gender and sexuality don't matter to them. One day my dad read texts I'd sent a friend talking about how I was bisexual and bam that was that. Coming out to my friends was a whole other story unfortunately though.
