(SPOILERS) I have no idea how to feel about this. Disliked Kurose the whole time. As he says, he was using Shirataki or whatever so he could forgive himself for... wanting more attention from his parents and possibly causing that guy’s suicide. I mean, I can’t imagine that final experience was pleasant for the shut-in. He probably thought he was going to get arrested. I did too. Maybe instead of working in a mental health clinic, Kurose should go to one (again, how he became a mental healthcare worker to forgive himself in a way). Got interested in the story but skipped the sex scenes (imagine that, reading for plot). Dropped it for a while around chapter 16, then I read the parts with the MC’s backstories. I’m surprised the main characters didn’t talk about those to each other, but I also guess they didn’t need to. (Oh yeah, almost forgot. Shirataki’s trauma was because that student tricked him into seeing her have sex with his dad, but can we talk about the dad??? He belongs in prison, but the end is just shirataki noodles calling him like hey. God I feel bad for noodles). Honestly at that part I expected it to go into the girl’s backstory in an endless loop of “why the fuck is this person acting the way they are right now” sparked by Kurose’s and Shirataki (I still can’t remember his name and I just read this)’s backstories. I’ve never been a fan of the “here’s an asshole, feel bad for them because of their backstory” trope, but this manga avoided that for the most part. For the half part? Ending was very open, maybe too open. Overall, I enjoyed reading it, especially when the story picked up around the middle, but there were a good amount of loose ends. There is a lot to unpack here, and I do not have the energy to do so after reading 32 chapters overnight! Thanks for coming to my TED Talk! Can the MCs get actual therapists now?
