Uhm. I don't want to critique it too much because the story is great, but the art feels like it's gotten sloppier... a looooooot compared to the beginning. It's become really noticeable now when looking at MC in the latest few chapters

Yeah I remember some of them used to get better, but it seems there must be some kind of rushing going on with the bl artists more and more recently causing a decrease in the art, that or more of it being given to assistants due to harsher deadlines. Either way it's just a bit disappointing to see. Not like the art is 'bad' now, just it's gotten noticeably worse for a lot of bl manhwa I've been reading

This! I literally dropped this coz of the terrible art. I thought maybe the art would get better coz there is some occasional artist would changed characters features. Istg, before this yuder looks so soft and cutie and now he looks like he hasnt bath for a monthI lovess the novel sm but the art is getting lazy and rush, i know the novel is very lengthy and packed with plot but, did the artist finally regret doing this manwha commission or something since the novel is over 1k chapters and stil ongoing..(⊙…⊙ )

yuders character is not someone who is soft and cute in the first place… he’s supposed to be rugged and rough because of how he has been trained and how old he technically is..so right now is pretty much a better depiction than before.. it’s offensive to call someone lazy when they’re the one providing you with an actual visual. the artist is working hard, otherwise there would in fact be no chapters still being uploaded. just because the art is not up to your standard doesn’t mean you have to ridicule the artist.

I don't think the artist is lazy, I agree with that, however I don't agree that this is currently a 'better' depiction of Yuder at the moment. The artist is still good, just compared to early chapters Yuder legitimately looks like a different character. His hair is different, and his chin and jaw are a different shape in almost every panel. As an artist myself I won't consider them lazy, but sloppy really is the only word I could fit for what it is now. Inconsistent character faces and proportions, the colouring has greatly changed from the beginning, the hair has lost depth in the shading and the eyes are drawn different sizes in different panels. I hope the artist could take a break for health or that their publisher, whichever site they're actually officially publishing their comic through, would give them longer deadlines. Just sad to see a novel I loved start off having such great art in it's adaptation, only for the quality to end up being so inconsistent now

not exactly what I meant when I said better depiction. I meant when they used the words soft and cute, which is not yuder for the most part. I’m not saying the art isn’t different, cause it is. I’m just saying it’s not an easy thing to consistently draw something the same time, also as an artist. Art comes with ups and downs and sometimes while trying to become better, your art style falters. I think this is also the case with the artist, however just because the art is “deteriorating” doesn’t mean the artist should be harassed. If you truly loved the novel you wouldn’t get high off of nitpicking every single detail and just appreciate what you got. There are plenty amazing novels that will never get an adaption. That being said, I will always be grateful to the artist.

Help when did I get high off of nitpicking lol. I'm truly grateful to the artist and me asking if I'm alone in my thoughts on the art quality decreasing is valid. It's happening with so many comics recently, and really seems like a publishing and artist health issue, not the artist in the process of evolving to a different style for a better reason. Hence why I asked. And I love the novel, that's why seeing an adaptation consistently keep it's quality means a lot to me. I'm not you tho so have your own opinions that's fine

No offense but all our opinions here on the artist’s art is unsolicited considering we are all pirating their content. Unless they have specifically asked for critique from readers then we all technically aren’t owed anything. Old fandom etiquette for free works like art and writings should be followed in this instance. I myself was very apprehensive of not the art but the yudrein uniform (his commander outfit is supposed to look similar to kishiar’s) change because it’s extremely symbolic and plot relevant to the story but whatever criticism is happening should only be in between the editor, the author, the storyboarder, and the artist. It’s a public forum so it’s fine to say whatever as all art can have many subjective opinions and considering all the complaints won’t actually be read by the artist (this is good bc it would be extremely draining on their mental health and unprofessional). But honestly my take is that there should be a studio/team behind this manhwa and not one artist and storyboarder. It is far too long of a novel and the combat scenes will only get tougher to adapt or having the artist post chapters once or twice a month. Don’t take this too seriously but I do disagree on your takes on how yuder should be portrayed. Some shots of “soft yuder” in the beginning is suitable before his body went under three months of training but the novel specifically points out he is quite built (like a mix of a swimmer and ballet dancer build) and actually tall (he’s 5ft 11.6 in). Actually the artist is more accurate recently with proportions but I do agree that it is not consistent at all and it’s most likely due to limited amount of time they were given to draw. I don’t necessarily agree with rugged and rough though as the other commentator said as I think he’s more pragmatic, cold, solemn and stoic. Also I’m not sure why you think yuder looks like he hasn’t bathed in a month considering it’s only his proportions that has been changed? He still looks ghostly pale lmaoooooo.

That's completely fine! And thanks for reading my opinions even if you disagree! Might be a neuro spicyness but I didn't mean harm with critique, just genuine question if that makes sense? It's a bit harder for me to know if others view things the same way so I was genuinely asking. I was probably a bit too direct with how I worded things.
Ok so this far hasn't actually done that with the princess, and this is just lying to make MC 'know her place' or some shit I guess. Either way ml messed up so fucking badly honestly he needs a loooooong ass chasing arc to even begin to be worth any of MCs time
