I hate the stereotype that women and men can't be close friends without romantic feelings for each other unless the man/woman is gay.
Amen to that. I have been married for close to 40 years and have had a number of close friends of the opposite gender, without having any romantic feelings, let alone sex. Perhaps it’s because I actually like women and think of them as fellow rational beings rather than creatures with one purpose in life.

-lack of communication/distanced himself for no reason

I'm glad the uke didn't give in the first or second time towards the seme's "efforts" to win him back. Honestly, a happier ending would've been that the uke dumped him forever and ended up with someone who could actually treat him how he deserves. I understand not realizing feelings until they lose someone but should've valued it in the first place. Red flags all around.
It wasn't the worst yaoi I've ever read but it wasn't the best either. Definitely left you feeling like something was missing though.. A decent seme maybe?
