I don't know if Kaoru can be considered bad or what, I think he just has a very low confident level about himself?
After a few times of breaking up with his ex (when he was still in love), isn't it quite normal to get insecurities about the next relationship?
And he also has disadvantage himself.
He is gay while Hara wasn't (if i'm not wrong?)
And while he is hoping for the best, for the relationship, he also thought about the other possibilities, like what he said in manga about 'what happens if they break up.'
Yes, you should think how to bond the relationship and make the relationship works.
But, you might not be able to trick fate, and what if you can't end up together in the end?
His ex was happy with him, but happier with their fate one, in the end.
While he wants to be the one to make Hara happy, but he knows he lacks of the qualities to do it.
He cannot simply cut the red string, of course he had to think about a lot of things that might happens because of it.
Anyway, I hope the best for them.
I agree with you. The boy can see red strings and his job is to cut them. I think he know more than anyone the consequences of playing with faith. So i understand that he was in the wrong when he lied to hara but at the same time, great power comes with great responsability. When you cut the strings of someone when if its their wish, imagine the burden you have on you, imagine how you feel responsable when someone is unhappy because of your action...
Great power comes with great responsibility. It's so damn true.
I think Kaoru can't cut it also because he loves too much? He thought about much far ahead, all the possibility, so he end up hurting himself and Hara too.
Moreover, after he sees the strings, of course he can't stop himself from thinking about 'what if they are breaking up.', 'cause it happened in his past too.
Although Hara and Kaoru did separate for a while (after Hara tried to leaves him), and Hara did stay in love with him, but it happens while Hara's red string is not connected to anyone.
