We have to settle this debate once and for all. Asami with bangs or Asami with his hair pushed back?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
YASS, although i do like it when he's all business like and serious, he Looks BEYOND hot When he has it tousled or with a bed head. My god i Love how sensei's Artwork has evolved.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/81/u33116_50x50.jpg?2)
Seriously you want to start a depate about his hair he is smoking hot with both ( ˘ ³˘) beside don't you just love the gap that his hair givea his character like when he has it all pushed up he has that charming bossy look on his face that make your brain disfunction and with his bed her it makes the your heart overflow with cuteness overload O(≧∇≦)O that is what i think after all
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Not a debate for me at all - I like both, the business style and the causual style. Both serve to underline different sides of Asami and his life and in that, the different hair style is a great device that sensei is using.

I must be one of the few who does not want feilong to ever come back. Whenever I reread I tend to skip his scenes. Which character, that has gone for a long time, do you never want to see again?
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/82/u162_50x50.jpg?2)
Not a fan of Fei Long either. I wouldn't be totally against it, as long as there's a logical reason he's coming back and not just for the sake of fan service, but yeah, I'm rather neutral toward the guy. Wouldn't want too much of him, I find him boring for some reason. Can't pinpoint exactly why.
But honestly I'm not a fan of the Hong Kong Arc to begin with. Feels too overly dramatic to me, not enough Akihito X Asami action and well I just love the silliness of some of their interactions. When I reread I just sort of skip the Hong Kong Arc :L..
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
And every one has the right to feel read the manga the way they want to.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I am bitterly unhappy that Sudou didn't die like a normal person and lingers on to moon ineffectually over Asami. I'd like him to be gone for good. I find him weak and uninteresting and a most unworthy foe for Asami or Akihito.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Speaking of fanservice, Fei has gotten more than his fair share. He was supposed to die at the end of the Hong Kong arc and sensei gave him a reprieve for fans. Then she brought him back in all his wet, naked glory for the onsen extra. And then he gets his own freaking novel. And greedy fans think they deserve more. Too bad. Like it or not, he is not the main character of this manga.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Nope. She has said he was originally slated for death at the end of volume five. She only kept him alive because of fan demand, and that demand was primarily from international fans, not from Japanese fans. She had no plans to keep him alive after the Hong Kong arc, so would that suggest she didn't consider him a "good character"? Or is she just not a good author? I mean, that's kind of a silly supposition. Good characters die in fine literature all the time.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I also don't wish to see Fei Long return. Have really no interest in seeing any of the naked truth characters return but we already have mikhail coming in so idk who's next. Sensei doesn't seem to kill of the bad guys. The only one who has been killed so far is Yuri and even that's not 100% confirmed. I just hope Sudou gets a fitting punishment at the end if this arc and that villains don't keep on returning.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/9c/u115805_50x50.jpg?2)
I said the exact opposite: It's better not to kill your good characters (your quality characters/important ones) if you're planning to continue a story. I you have to kill one of them, it would be better to kill it at the last part of the story (not in the middle). And from my point of view, she didn't kill Feilong because of the fans, but it could have been her editor who told her not to kill him. A good character can turn useful if the story, if the story has to continue for a long period of time. I have a realistic point of view about so many things.
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/9c/u115805_50x50.jpg?2)
So sorry, I didn't realize that you were talking about the books. To be able to do what you're saying, an author should have the ability to build so many characters, one behind the other, otherwise it would be difficult to "kill" characters and provide to build others as interesting as the old ones. :)
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/f4/u1182_50x50.jpg?2)
Reading your conversation reminds me of the GoT Honest Trailer. Probably you've seen it (30 million views, lol), but seeing how the subject is about authors who wantonly kill of their characters, it's good for a replay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVaD8rouJn0
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Tokidoki, you and I had the same thought, it seems When I read the other anon's reply regarding "Good characters die in fine literature all the time.", I immediately thought: Yeah... NED STARK! And they better not lay a hand on Tyrion Lannister, lol!
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Tea, while I like Fei a lot, I think it's perfectly alright to say if you don't and don't wish for him to return. After all we all have our likes, dislikes and different reasons to be drawn into the story. :) I for one wouldn't mind seeing him return, but as was said by somebody earlier in this thread (I think it was Lightasus), I wouldn't want it to be fan service, but as part of a really good plot development. And I wouldn't want it to be as an adversary of Asami again (I would find that rather boring), but in way where they join forces against a third party. The current plotline would provide such a development (and after all, we already have Mikhail A. making a return, so why not Fei), but we will have to see if she does in fact consider it or go there. As a principle - book, TV, movie, manga, anime, whatever - I only ever want to see a character return if he/she really adds to the plot and drives the story further. And that's regardless of how much I may or may not like the character.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
... and don't forget Iason and Riki in Ai no Kusabi. Their death was... well, perfect. And while I am writing this, JK Rowling comes to mind. :) She once described herself as a "killer with a keypad", lol.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Sorry, I meant keyboard not keypad. :)
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I want fei to come back but get with the Russian. Maybe have his own story.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Quote: "Iason and Riki are Romeo and Juliet." Get out of my brain, Tokidoki! ^^ Seriously, that is the exact thing that I keep saying every time someone says that "the ending of ANK sucked" or that they should have had a happy end. In their end Iason and Riki become classic Shakespearean drama. That is one of the things that make this story such a standout. :)
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
P.S.:
Just remembered another one... Winter Cicada. That one destroyed me.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
it certainly was.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I don't buy that story abt. FeiLong being saved by over seas fans. Why? The way she drew him. no one puts that amt. and time to draw a charc. like that and kill him off. to much work down the drain. Look at the stalker killed , the no name guy shot by Asami . they were not exactly fashion plates. Poor Suoh (is he dead) sigh. She let Takaba beg Asami to stop shooting. besides who would Takaba have left to compare himself to and angst abt. if not for an alive FeiLong?
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/a5/u85538_50x50.jpg?2)
Even Joss Whedon, who was famous for killing off characters people like even before GRRM, saved Spike because Spike was such a fan favorite. Spike was originally slated to die at the end of season 3, I believe, but he stayed till the end of the series because fans loved him (and even Joss liked how the character developed). And since that type of story allows for it, Joss brought Spike back from the dead to be on Angel after Buffy was over. Sometimes a character just takes off and becomes more than what a writer originally intended. But all the fan complaints in the world never brought Tara back to life, which just goes to show you the "bury your queers" trope is stronger than a writer's desire to please fans (just ask the writers on The 100 about that).
As for GRRM
Spoilerish for people who haven't read the books
minor spoiler
Not everyone GRRM kills off stays dead exactly.

Although its been out a while, I always liked the "Character I used to know" song:
https://youtu.be/ZXSSBu9uKrM
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Asami is supposed to be a badass mofo but which baddie has he actually managed to get rid off besides Yuri (who returned in a AU/non AU hot spring extra in the most casual manner possible and is still unknown whether its canon or not) and also not forgetting russian mobster #331 and Momohara Ai's stalker. The actual masterminds get off scot-free and just return later on to stir shit up again. At the end of this arc I truly hope to see a proper resolution aka a few baddies meeting their demise. Could be Sudou, Sakazaki, Mikhail, DEFINITELY Aaron and idk whoever, whatever. It would not be fun to see Sudou returning a few arcs later (if there are a few more arcs) at the end of some chapter like LOOK WHOS BACK - AKIHITO'S NO.1 ENEMY TBC IN THE DEC 2020 ISSUE.. yea.. please no.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Sorry but it comes from sensei herself, Q&A session. Unless you don't believe the actual author herself. As for keeping Fei alive for story purposes, that doesn't preclude her originally planning to kill him off. Not all writers have everything planned out that carefully in advance. Sometimes plot just happens and you work with what you have. And lets not forget that sensei has blundered in the past. The whole series starts off with an admitted major blunder that she has since had to work around. Invalid argument.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Same. I don't want to see his face anymore. It would be better if he is like one of those arc characters that just goes when their part is done.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Personally, I think I wouldn't miss Sudou much if he disappeared after this arc, nor Sakazaki for that matter. But I was actually pretty happy to see Mikhail again, and I'd totally freak out if Feilong made a reappearance. *-*
![](https://pic1.mangapicgallery.com/r/avatar/a5/u85538_50x50.jpg?2)
Asami also killed Fei's biodad. Personally, I like to think it is part of Asami's aesthetic not to personally kill others unless they really piss him off. Death as a goto solution has a simple charm, but it is ultimately weak and inelegant if you look at the big picture. It leads to people wanting revenge and potential gang war if you kill the wrong person. All that crap is bad for business. Besides, trying to kill everyone who is bad would keep you busy 24/7. If you let you enemies or frenemies keep power you yourself cannot realistically try to claim and hold without giving up power in other areas, at least you know how the other operates. Better the devil you know.

As an aside (because you tend to let me chatter on), I've been watching a lot of Korean historical dramas lately, and I was thinking that would read more manga with female characters (or not be as annoyed with female side characters) if they were more like the women in those dramas. Those chicks always have a goal that is next to impossible, and they do everything to reach it no matter how often they get kicked to the ground. Meanwhile, the hot guy slowly falls for her because of her inner strength and humor. Sometimes they make bad choices and need to be rescued, but sometimes they rescue. They are never passive and they never rest on the fact that they are pretty and expect others to solve their problems. I know it's a different genre and there are cultural differences between Korea and Japan, but as I watch these I think there is something to the idea the ideal Korean heroine is strong as well as pretty.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
@Anonymous She said it then I am wrong.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I don't feel for feilong that much or any other characters from NT returnig either as Anon said ,but if bring him or others back will bring a storm down to vf....... why not indeed. I'm just open mindede to the possiblities
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Something must be wrong with you. If any character is boring, it will be Takaba. He's boring as hell. Damsel in distress-not really, a pet -not really, a rebel -not really. Take him out of the story and it'll still be running well.
If I had to choose, I'd wish for Yuri to be gone forever lol.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
You find him boring yet "can't pinpoint exacty why". That's screaming "I don't like him just for the heck of it".
I love Asami but I know just what I love from him. And I don't like Sudou because he is scheming, and I find him boring because his character did not add depth to the story in any way. There! Even if it is biased, you should still have some reasons for not liking a character
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
And he returned! You should drop Finder! You're doomed! Hahaha
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I love Feilong so much. LF = love Fei.
But I also understand why many fans do not want to see him coming back. Feilong was presented as an Asami enemy and above all as a hindrance to the couple. It seems obvious to me that many fans do not like him. Its positive evolution is present in a small part of NT and FNR. Only an alliance between Asami and Fei and the clear and complete renunciation of Feilong to Asami can bring a union into fandom. But it seems obvious to me, not strange.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
I would also like Sensei to give him some happiness and serenity. Until now he only suffered. I wish he found love with Yoh, though fortunately he seems to have found a small family in his nephew. Also thanks to Akihito he felt accepted for the first time.
We'll see.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Your hate for Fei kills me!╥﹏╥

i want to know what they're saying so badly щ(ಠ益ಠщ),
guys any summary out there?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
Summary of the chapter :
Sakazaki saves Sudo, he tells him that his buyer is a dangerous guy who wants to kill him and tells him that Asami must be aware that he was targeted but left him like that, Sudo starts crying while thinking that yeah Asami won't ever save him and that he can't be by his side anymore... Sakazaki tries to cheer him up.
On our little couple side :
They're watching the guys thanks to a camera and hear them talk about the fact that they can't fail this mission and talk about a bomb.
Asami called an helicopter, there is an emergency exit in this room to the rooftop. He gives a gun to Aki telling him that once the helicopter is there he'll have to get out of here while he buys some time.
But Aki is really worried and refuses to leave without Asami, telling him it's too dangerous, that he should stop acting cool, that he'll be killed like the previous owner if he's too reckless .... But well Asami is being Asami ("who do you think I am ?"...) and doesn't listen. But in the end he seems touched by Aki's behaviour.
The helicopter comes but is noticed by the bad guys and the chapter ends with Asami shooting at Aaron while Aki runs to the helicopter.
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)
it is 18 pages what you talking bout?
![](/images/home/manga-img-anonymous-30.png)

I just love Aki so much. I usually get annoyed with the leads in a lot of the things I read or watch, but Aki is so lovable.
He is so cute and badass and awesome, I feel like he's the glue that keeps everything together. If he was annoying, this manga would not be as enjoyable. I want all the good things to happen to him.
And Asami is Asami.

Does anybody know where this image comes from? http://ww3.sinaimg.cn/mw1024/d46dc0cegw1eifr27cafoj20b50go40f.jpg
It's so weird but I don't feel any sparks between them. No chemistry.
Hmm, personally disagree. I think I feel chemistry from them, but it's not the kind you typically see in manga/fiction/etc. It's more of a stable, "we've known each other for a billion years platonically but now it's growing into something more." It's a more like the long-lasting warmth of a banked fire than exploding fireworks, if you know what I mean? I found it fun to see how their view of each other changed and how they're fumbling through their first relationship with each other, and how their long history affects this. So, I can see where you're coming from, but I'd argue that chemistry IS indeed there--it's just in a different form than what's typically seen :)
