I think this is actually a pretty good fucked up psychological thriller. There were many twists I was NOT expecting. SPOILER!!! It’s absolutely crazy that one of them was that Fukusuke literally couldn’t get hard when Shouichi showed despair, sadness, and visceral fear towards him. He can’t stand being hated and feared by Shouichi and doesn’t want him to be so devastated. He wants Shouichi to be passionate and happy. He realised that he wanted Shouichi to genuinely want him and if it wasn’t that then it wouldn’t be anything. Also another great twist is that things couldn’t go all according to his plan because Shouichi is smarter and more understanding and much more kinder that Fukuske could have ever imagined. And ANOTHER twist which I think we could all see is that Fukusuke is STILL being a manipulative piece of shit to get Shouichi, playing on his sense of duty and his love for the job. But one interesting thing is he is genuinely showing his pathetic side, both manipulatively and genuinely to Shouichi. Shouichi my beloved, please always get away from Fukusuke and be happy on your own.
Also damn, I just very recently read the Gintama doujinshi by Harada, absolutely scary and vomit inducing, I can see how those characters were working iterations over the years that built up to this story that is Color Recipe. It’s so clear but the doujinshi is so much more disturbing and there is only pure despair at the end. Harada almost kind of subverted their own story.
I know you all will immediately forgive the way Jinjoo treated Doyeon because I, too, gave up when I read that. Whatever man, go on and be happy guys SPOILER!!!! It seems like she easily got a divorce from her shitty ass husband and she didn’t need to put Doyeon through all that, this was a big ass topic before and why we all justified Jinjoo being a terrible, manipulative, projecting-years-of-adult-marriage-on-younger-partner, and a dominating person to Doyeon but hey, in the next couple of chapters it seems it did not matter anymore at fucking all. It wasn’t hard or scary at all. I guess she needed to find courage in herself to be ok without her husband, to not be scared of the very real and unfair consequences of divorce after being solely a housewife with a couple of part time jobs in such a misogynistic society like South Korea, and that she had to untangle herself from the ideal of true love she dreamed of and idolized from a young age that was kinda Christian (husband and wife) and the grooming from her adult husband when she was in high school. She, of course, HAD to be a terrible person to Doyeon through out that time, there was no OTHER WAY at all I guess. And Doyeon being the ultimate simp who doesn’t even register that terrible shit’s been done to her doesn’t care so. Welp, it is what it is. Go on, be happy guys.

yeah i was surprised when i first read it as well. i was expecting a lot worse because its harada (still love their twisted storytelling) but it's actually alright, im happy hes not a middle schooler in that one and i kinda liked the ending as well
Yesssssss, the kid being in middle school here is sketchy, they could have just had an older brother younger brother relationship especially as a parallel to his own relationship with his younger brother. I’m glad it didn’t go deeper into crossing the line here though because Harada is not known to be reluctant to do so. It was portrayed in a very innocent way but just the implication itself is less than ok, especially because, once again, it was unnecessary. Either make the angel’s age within an appropriate age range in reference to the mc’s or scrap the dating stuff, it honestly wouldn’t have changed the story
