In the original story,Jennette did nothing for Athy,Athy helped her get closer to Claude to some extent but Jennette never helped her,not only that but Athy died cause of her,and Jennette never felt much of a remorse from what i've read,like yeah she was sad but she got over her death pretty quickly.I forgave Claude cause he really changed from the original story with Athy's help,but Jennette is still the same and,correct me if i'm wrong,but i doubt her character will change much
