her body will be skinny for sure. that’s just how it works in these mangas. however u can view it as "body shaming" or the mc choosing a healthier lifestyle. i’m choosing the latter. since magic don’t exist here she will need to work towards a healthier body. And a healthy body is never fat shaming in my mind. i also wanna lose weight since i’m overweight but ive never thought of these themes as fat shaming tbh. also y’all know she will become skinny so if it’s too offensive for u pls drop this~ not tryna be mean but rather than the manga itself ppl who complain every time a new chapter drops are more annoying. i know other + size ppl might not feel the same way as me but if u really think this is bad pls drop it! i’m saying this for you and for others too
I think if you view this from a Japanese perspective, it's more about being health conscious, as a larger body tends to have a higher chance of risk to certain weight-related diseases in Japan. There's also a law against being overly obese.
That's not to say weight-shaming doesn't exist in Japan, but the average person by acre is generally not incredibly overweight. So it's a collective mindset.

Honestly fat shaming for me is a wee bit different. To me is a doctor neglecting symptoms and blaming it all on being overweight. And yes this happens a lot. It's your relatives making remarks on how beautiful you are but that you'd be even more after losing some weight. Your parents asking how you'll get pregnant one day if you don't get "healthier". Going shopping and never finding clothes the right size and having to buy it online and hope the size advertised is right.
Those are real fat shaming to me because those reduce your worth as a person to your weight. Seeing mcs slimming down to be pretty in comics doesn't really bother me. It bothers me a little how they downplay the difficulties of being overweight to just being less attractive.
I think the fat shaming part of it is that this manga makes the overweight villainess a ball of negative stereotypes surrounded with being overweight.
Why are the attractive people in her family automatically good? Why is the struggle to eat healthily reduced to vanity and selfishness- saying that if you’re a good person it would be easy to stay slim? Why does the ‘good’ soul which inhabits the body easily slim down in a short time so her appearance ‘matches’ her appearance?
It’s fat shaming because it assumes that appearance matches personality. It’s saying that people are fat because they’re evil and if they were to become a good person they’d instantly slim down.

On that point I agree. It kinda goes into the downplaying I mentioned. The OGs are usually portrayed as evil and with a bad personality and the factors that caused the overweight are either overlooked or blamed on the OG... I think the only one where the overweight wasn't blamed on the OG and she had a good personality was one where her "good friend" fattened her up so she wouldn't outshine her. I don't really remember the name now...

Honestly, it's ok to change your body size. She herself said that she wants a "healthy" body and being obese doesn't vibe with that due to how you will feel phsycally. I was never obese but I used to be overweight and I was having side effects e.g. back pain (it affected how well I could move my body because one wrong move could cause me to feel immerse pain.) Plus, she needs to save money so decrasing food spending will be good. However, while all I saw was salad, I would have liked to see more protein and some carbs in that meal.
Although, personally I think that this should be potrayed more realistically or maybe the mc could be resonable sized instead of skinny (not saying that skinny isn't realistic, but her becoming skinny right away is super wrong). Weight loss takes a long amount of time and if you're at a certain size, you will have loose skin. However, I'm happy that she isn't going into crazy excercise and starvation mode (a lot of mangas do that) and honestly it's super damaging to ppl who try to loose weight and it makes people fail. It leads to yo-yo dieting. And ppl think that changing your body size is a form of torture, and honestly I can't blame them because diet culture is a thing and it promotes super unhealthy ideas about self worth (which doesn't correlate with weight) and about how to change your weight. Then people try to make changes and what they trully end up doing is, going on a self torture marathon where they work out like crazy and eat nothing.
Apperance wise, she was hot from chapter 1. Although before she hit her head, her persoanlity sucked.
The sister is a bit of a disappointment.. sure reading minds is great(huge invasion of privacy tho) but the man revelator had better skills like absorption. hers is basically just recon.

She was looked down her entire life coz she was female, then because he refused the crown she had to study crown lessons, the father was assassinated (probs by the concubine & son) and she was refused the crown after all that studying.
