It’s intriguing how the story portrays the Queen’s role. Although she’s called a Queen, the line about the King being allowed concubines raises the possibility that the ML’s mother may have originally been a concubine who gained a higher status. If she took over after the previous Queen’s death, it would add complexity to her position, especially if she’s been reigning for a shorter time than expected.

That scene where the FL and ML walk away after greeting the King and Queen at the ball is especially captivating. It seemed as though the Queen was reminiscing, possibly about the former Queen’s smile, which gives her character a bit more depth. Yet, her relationship with her son remains harsh, given her history of torturing him. This duality makes her a really complex and conflicted character—her memories of the previous Queen could hint at guilt or regret, which adds an interesting layer to her actions.

After the scene that I had been anticipating for over a year flopped in front of my eyes as it could not compare to what happened to the novel, I sadly started to avoid one of my favorite Manhwas despite loving everything else. Normally I eagerly read every new update, but I avoided it until now. However, while I’m still disappointed about that one scene, episode 110 and 111 really redeemed the story and made it worth checking it out again. Just the irony is that he had so much blood on his, so it shows that the lack of blood and bruising on Ruby was not because of the audience they were focusing on.

I would love to read this scene and see the ML’s reaction

I didn’t intend to read a dark book like this, was more looking for possessive mls lol but I’m still reeling and processing. I did love the author’s note though

Chapters 37, 38, and 40 are messed up and can not be read. There may be more, but I haven’t gotten past chapter 40

I hate when the story teases up that the female lead has been with another man or men only to turn back and say wait oops that’s all a lie. She’s actually a naive virgin. I would love if they normalized females being experienced and having past lovers

I’m contemplating if I should start it or not

There is a huge time skip between chapters 51 and 52. Even though the next chapter was shown as chapter 52, it may have been 5 or 10 chapters ahead. I would have loved to see her father and step mother pay. Otherwise, this was an enjoyable story. I hate when mls are cold and cruel, this one was a supportive green flag, loved the mc, and the other characters. Don't know why they killed off one of the good side characters though.

It's interesting to think of this from two point of povs. How many times have we read stories where the fake daughter reunites with her family and we are so happy for her, but on the other hand here is the "real" daughter, but we prefer the fake lol. I know she's evil, but I'm glad that our female lead was not disregarded and pushed to the side.

I always wondered why certain women in other stories would remarry a previously married emperor with a child, or willingly marry an older man. It’s because of the power and the thrill; knowing you can crush any of your opponents. The red head is half his age, practically his daughter’s age, he was married, had a kid, and still even if it’s her delusions would happily marry him.

Are you kidding me. I just got caught up with a lovely story with a fl who had a backbone, a green flag ml, and a family that groveled. While trying to find recs, I stumbled upon this story because it was recently updated aka chapter 13. Despite the comments I gave it a chance and I regret it. Unlike the first story where the FL didn’t bother to withhold information and snap back at the bad guys, this fl keeps quiet.

Her sword is 10x better. At least he protects her. I’m not even a fan of the ml. I also despite that she’s the naive innocent virgin type who sent even been kissed yet despite being 43. I hate how they all ruined her reputation those ungrateful people. I’m so angry on her behalf I could pull my hair in frustration, but I persevered and continued to read.

Makes me wonder why the cousin’s parents could defend her reputation instead of calling her a witch, those ungrateful people. I hate how kind she is. If I found out someone was trying to steal by companionship I would burn them to ashes and yet she allows the ml to say. Does that pig brain forget or not realize that if he takes away the sword she’ll be left alone?

The only chapter that was nice in my eyes was chapter 13 when he finally realizes she is more than her bloody reputation and that she is not truly sane. I want to watch his parents pay so badly. I want everyone to pay. I’m just so angry if I was her, I wanted to destroy this entire kingdom. And the worst thing is often times these are the characters who are villainized. In actuality, they’re the victims of the unfortunate situations and yet people twist their words. Twist their reputations in history stamps them is horrible awful people. How hard was it for them to say that we are so thankful to your aunt who saved your mother’s life? And now the father “regrets” it? Sure.

The only way to make up the story and make it better and worth reading is if the revenge avenge justice is worth it, otherwise I wouldn’t even bother. Yes I know that ML is a victim as well, and the female lead still persevered. But let’s be honest most of us are reading it because we want justice for her.

I absolutely love the story. I love that. The female lead is bad as she has a backbone and she doesn’t hesitate to reveal the information. This is something I’ve struggled with in other stories because of the times they don’t reveal it till later, which adds up to misunderstandings now I know sometimes they can’t, but I always love when the information is revealed. So I’d love recs where the information is revealed. And/or recommendations where the family grovels big time. I have read many where the family is not redeemable, but I would love ones where the family is redeemable but also makes up for either not getting involved or letting the abuse happen for so long. I felt so bad for the original fl, but I’m happy this fl is getting revenge for her. Chapter 9: It hit me so hard because it’s very rare for the fl to get revenge on indifferent parents. She really dug it into her father that he never cared and it shocked him. Let’s see if he will change, but I doubt it. I can’t wait for her brothers to learn and grovel as well

I feel like so many manhwas and mangas have been having such short chapters, but this one felt refreshing. Though we did have to wait 14 days :c I can't wait for the emperor to find out that she is magic born as well. I love seeing him or her biological father and brothers in the chapters

I want to know when he realized he messed up by believing the rumors, and if he grovels or tries to make up. I love spoilers so would love to get all the details

Chapter 77 already came out on September 24th, 2024 and yet it shows its been updated on October 1st, 2024. Though it was chapter 78

I honestly expected him to remember only when he met with the painter husband, but I’m so excited. I really hope they show the previous lives from his pov. To see his emotions and his feelings in (the both past lives). I don’t think the author will reveal the third life till later

That's something that doesn't seem clear to me. Did the emperor marry the Mc's mom and the villainess at the same time, had the prince, and then impregnated both women to have his daughters? Or did he marry the villainess after the mc's mother's death? From what I am understanding the heroine's mother came from a poor family, while the villainess is powerful. Yet, her daughter seems older if not the same age as the mc. I also will wonder whats the excuse for ignoring his daughter in the original story/first time line.

Just to add, while I love romance, I'm actually glad that there is little to no romance at the moment. I love just seeing her with her father and brothers.
