I think it's more so because his personality changed greatly after he found a new empress, becoming so cruel to tia instantly. If that's all it takes, then it's basically in his character already. The only reason why he is behaving a little different in this timeline is because she doesn't want to be queen this time.
In the first timeline she loved him but her love was never returned since he was petty about always been compared with her and that her straight face. She also always carried herself with pride which he wanted to break hence killing child and dad then making her beg him, in the first timeline he never loved her even a bit and in the second he is just curious about her reason for rejecting him cause he wants to be in control of everything.
I personally don't want her to end up with the prince and then the green hair guy I think she make him better and sure he wants to keep her but he is still a 1000000000x better than ending up with someone that will kill you, your child and your father

I hate the prince for his nature or disposition. A new timeline doesn't mean their personalities have changed. If Tia were to act the same as her previous life, the outcome would be the same in this timeline too. But Tia has her memories of past life that she has such a drastic personality change. But what of the prince? Even if he comes to love Tia, he is still capable of doing those cruel things to others. He is merciless, prideful and shallow. That's why I can't come to like/trust him. As for him being shallow, he had feelings for Tia initially in the previous timeline, but he was consumed by his jealousy later.
[SPOILER] and even after Tia died and he was left with the brown haired girl, he had a change of heart. I read the spoilers. When Tia died, the girl couldn't handle the empress duties and state affairs which made the prince compare her with Tia and finally regret his decision. Remember how lovey-dovey he was with her in the beginning ┑(￣Д ￣)┍[SPOiLER end]
Besides, he's such a hypocrite. Acting all kind in front of the new girl and claiming he loves her but secretly sleeps with Tia and abuses her.
In conclusion, it's his personality that I hate not what he did in the previous timeline bcs it's not happened YET. He's kinda ass to the core you know.
