marriage back then is different from marriage now, there isnt love involved with him and nathaniel (not on the ml's side at least), nathaniel hasnt given birth to an heir which is the only reason the king married him, the mc's role is to do that in place of nathaniel, petty squabbling between offical spouses and consorts in historical manga and manhwa its not new, you cant fault him when nathaniel started it first by implying hes ugly with the mirror gift, and then the mc just defended himself against nathaniel being rude. i swear readers like you who dont understand that it isnt all just happy romance marriages with a homewrecker when its a literal historical manga and history is messy and fucked up, go read a happy romance shoujo if youre getting pissed off and cant handle a setup that literally explained what it was from the start. hes not cheating, the original husband nathaniel made it a competition, the mc wants nothing to do with any of that but is falling for the king so its inevitable, if you want to read actual historical set fiction thatll piss you off watch game of thrones or house of the dragon like the rest of us, then youll stop complaining about random ass manga ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Completely agree with the comment above, its actually a very accurate part of the plot that refers to an actual historical period where king needed many partners to produce an heir to ensure the throne will be passed in the family. They cant wait years for their spouse to get pregnant (in case he dies or gets killed) so he tries to impregnate many women (in this case omegas) at the same time. People got used to manga authors sugarcoating the whole kingdoms, kings and concubines theme by making the MC the true love of a kings and they lived happily ever after and he never had a concubine before them since he would only embrace the one he loves. But it wasnt so romantic in reality and some authors take the approach to be more accurate and some make it sweet and not very realistic, which in bith cases is perfectly fine. Both types are needed and we should equally enjoy it (but not the ones in which 100% of the plot is angst, because the authors of such works just torture us and the characters and its not good for the heart (/TДT)/ )
Imagin they finally talk it out, and he mf disintegrates because he fulfilled his dying wish… Stop idk if I can read this shit if it’s gonna end like that. But I CANT DROP ITTTT IM TO INVESTED SON OF A BITCH IMA CRAYYYYYY
Nah bro fuck everyone else SHE TOO FINEEEEEEEE, hope she don’t catch feelings first tho cause that man crazy tf and crazy fine too BAHAHHA I’m sorry someone had to say it.
I hate when it’s a “competition”, he’s literally already married… now I don’t want the Mc to end up with him.
