Remember Echi’s memories? She said of all the swords she managed to collect in order to turn back time she can’t use Langiosa (Yurien’s sword , sword of light ) which is because it can only be used against evil, since she can’t manifest it and use it she carried it on her back during the time she collected swords to turn back time, apparently like Baldegiosa it holds memories and that’s why Yurien knows what happened to Echi after the time rewind and even before that Yurien saw past behind Echi’s corrupted self that her soul is resilient and crying whenever the Baldegiosa takes over to wreck havoc and murder. Yurien manage to see her soul due to the Langiosa power “eyes of truth”. Hence, the Greenest Flag ML Yurien, loved and believed in Echi in all timelines and managed to see her struggles and strong resilience.

Thank you! That's actually make more sense now.
It's still lame to me. Can you really love someone just by watching them without even talking to them? Sure you can have a crush. But LOVE? Give me a break. It's the shallowest type of love, it's only barely better than "love at first sight". He doesn’t know her for her in the sense that he only ever watched her. It's stupid
Why are people questioning his love for her when most people irl fall for fictional characters all the time lol
Yes preach
No you have CRUSHES on fictional characters. You don’t love them to the point you'd cry if you ever thought you won’t see them again or some shit
Well that’s not their only meeting, in the first timeline, they met at a banquet way before Echi got Bal, and that’s where Yurien first saw her, the eyes of truth was also activated and Yurien saw a large force clouding Echi, but then it dissipated, that’s what got him curious and was shocked to see Echi’s appearance (dainty lady and fluffy pink hair). He was staring at Echi intently when suddenly causing the second prince pointing out that’s the first time a woman caught his eye causing him to pull away from looking at Echi.
So not really a forced proximity or love at first sight. Apparently the royal family also have a hand on all of this.
Welp, that’s all I’ve got from the forum. Some translations of the spoiler were directly from korean to English so some context might not be the same as is.
But all I can say, the novel shown Yurien’s green flag quality so much
It really doesn’t change anything I said. It's shallow. Yet in the chap27 he runs to her full of worries on the verge of tears like he almost lost the love of his life. It's stupid and shallow. If anything people would find it creepy in real life because why would someone act like that towards you when you actually almost never spoke to each other? They literally didn’t experience much TOGETHER. Talked like 10 times tops ALL timelines mixed together. That's stupid
So all of the characters you just read are simply characters to you since you can't talk to them. I thought readers "love" the characters they read so maybe you are different haha
I agree with that. I also hate the „love at first sight” tropes. Their scene together before made sense, seemed more like crush and sympathy. However, this expression was too dramatic. I’ve heard from people before that love at first sight etc does actually exist, but I really don’t believe that deep feelings can develop like that
There are different types of love though People „love” celebs differently, celebs „love” their fans differently. You have different „love” for your family and friends than for your lover. People who actually are IN LOVE WITH fictional characters usually have some kind of mental issue.
Honeslty, not what author probably intended, but my best bet at making this somewhat logical would be that he feels like he lived through all of that with her and she doesn’t. He accompanied her all those years, so maybe he created some sort of attachment and emotional bond with her. Kind of like parasocial relationship, but on a deeper level. In real life it would still be creepy and weird, but let’s be honest, a lot of things that those ML do in those stories would be major red flags in real life.
Idk why you see it as love as first sight, as for the spoilers and current manhwa time progress it shown that Yurien’s love for Echi, might have stemmed from his ability to see her true nature. While others only saw Echi as a demon he saw her crying soul and herself through the eye of truth. Yurien believes in her innocence and recognized her efforts to resists the corruption. It should also be taken to accord that during the first timeline Yurien is mostly the only person who talks and get near Echi, during corruption sor there’s already a certain bond. And some novel excerpts seem to show that his eye of truth also show people’s feelings there the manhwa’s illustration of Echi’s monologue or thought bubbles must be their illustrations that Yurien really hears her and sees past the corruption. Plussss, as the spoiler also indicated Langiosa also held memories, therefore Echi’s 15 year journey to be eligible to turn back time indirectly tells that Yurien is like with her throughout that journey as she carried Langiosa on her back unable to tap with its consciousness. Wherein swords ego or consciousness are intertwined with their masters just like Bal’s ego engraved on her as she woke up.
PS: it’s manhwa guys, it’s meant to be enjoyed. if something frustrates you when reading it when it’s dedicated to be enjoyable then maybe it’s not for you and would be better for your mental health to drop it
Dunno if you were responding to me, but I don’t see it as love at first sight. I see it more as parasocial relationship, someone is being watched and the watcher “falls in love” with the person they see, but never properly talked to. Personally, for me it’s on similar level to love at first sight. I like the ML, but I think his feelings should be shown as admiration and not straight up deep love. As for dropping it, what’s up with everyone telling others to drop something just because they criticize one part of the story? Thinking their love origin is the most crucial part of this manhwa is really minimizing every unique thing that is either non-existent or rare in other stories. I know it might be shocking, but you can enjoy something and also criticize parts of it at the same time. That’s how critical review works.
The "love at first sight" remark was to say that the ML's love is just a bit less superficial than love at first sight. In the sense that, with everything you said, HE STILL DOESNT TALK TO HER. He fell in love with her from AFAR.
All media is meant to be enjoyed but you can still have criticism to share. I literally don’t see the point of your remark
I think you’re the person I agree the most with in this comment section
