Yesss also usually it's the tops that do the chasing and the bottoms that pull away and resist them, but this story switched those dynamics. Initially it's Kihoon pursuing Yeon (not rlly romantically but yknow), but Yeon is resistant to go along with Kihoon's wishes.

This belief is harmful because it perpetuates the notion that men who display feminine traits or look more feminine will always be the receiving partner and that only masculine men can be the dominant partner. These stereotypes reinforce harmful gender norms and limit individual expression. I wish there was more natural men as bottom to be honest, I'm sick and tired of the typical tropes in BL.

Ummmm I think there’s some misconceptions/miscommunication…

First, I said similar, not identical… I understand there’s a difference between the sizes. Additionally, I was comparing to other BLs where the bottom size is equivalent to a c****/k** dick, or a micropenis, which a majority of BLs.

Second, I understand that fem bottoms and top bottom roles exist in BLs. However, I personally disagree that both are equally mainstream, I believe the former is much more prevalent in BLs compared to the latter, again, I am not saying they do not exist, but the the rate is which they exist is unbalanced when comparing each other… you may disagree but that is my personal opinion…

i guess i’m not really following with both of your points. their dick sizes are NOT similar, yeon’s is considerably bigger and still totally plays into the top owns bottom with massive schlong trope. the stereotypical bottom with a nonfunctional micro penis is another issue on its own.

rigid, fixed top bottom stereotypes are absolutely prevalent. i can barely count on one hand relationship dynamics that actually push against reader’s expectations of what a character who tops or bottoms would be like. the closest i’ve ever seen is “i’ll be here for you” and it’s bc the author was very explicit in how she created those characters specifically bc they didn’t and still don’t really exist. i’m tired that the top is always more “alpha” than the bottom. a bigger stronger man with a smaller man is not different from a big strong man with a soft femme man bc the idea of the top being a dominant figure in every way is so prevalent.

i really like the younger avoidant black cat beauty top and the older forward sunshine puppy bottom in this story, but i can’t help feeling that it’s only more palatable bc kihoon is smaller. the switch in roles based on personality already apparently shook a bunch of ppl to their core and i suspect if kihoon looked like a stereotypical puppy top that’s actually a bottom ppl will outright riot.
