this feels kind of all over the place maybe cuz it uploads monthly and i reread the story last year but i just cant find myself caring for the characters let alone the plot. like because i dont connect with them i cant seem to pay attention to the plot which is sad because i loved this story 3 years ago but i suppose i grew out of it. at this point i only care about shinoa she's been my favorite character ever since i read the light novel but they're kind pf wasting her character. i expected them to finally do something proper with her demon being the first vampire and all but i thşnk its been 4 chapters since and i dont have much expectations. i also liked her because she was lowkey comic releaf(normally i hate those because they ruin the pace) lile sje was funny and made the characters seem more human but we dont have cute moments now(ik mika has cute moments with yuu i guess but i xant seen to give a shit about those two no matter how much i like bl). and also i hope they dont ruin shinoa by making her a love intrest(probably also the reason i like mika the şeast out of the good guys:| he's like yuno gasai to me has nothing intresting to his character other than simping for yuu) i already hate how they made her out to be in love with him but i just hope anime doednt ruin yet another potentially freat character by making her a love intrest(ehem mikasa, and literally any girl in any shounen ever) maybe i should stop now and reread when it finishes and i just hope it gets better.

ik i actually enjoy smut but have this problem with both yaoi heterosexual and sometimes with yuri too.. i like a good story so i usually read shounen ai's instead same with shoujo with good character arc i'm judt honestly dissapointed because i like a good smut but its so rare to see a smut have an okay story i dont even have high expectations.. and you're right its only fiction but i'm a little disturbed with how often we see this nowdays and it doesnt even protray rape as rape i honestly wouldn't mind it if that were the case because i like fucked up dramas and realistic topics in manga but these types of mangas even romanticizes rape and that what i kg a e an issue with. i guess pırn industry and japan does this regularly but i still dont think its okay same with shota and loli mangas, thank you for trying to help me though maybe i should try to ignore these things as i cant do anything to change it but i'd be happy even if i could spread a little awareness to one person

When it comes to yaoi specifically smut area there is a lot of messed up scenarios and that’s to get the “story” moving. It doesn’t have to make sense just like wow the seme’s thing wouldn’t fit in the uke’s butt but that’s just yaoi logic. There are some good yaoi with great stories but sometimes it isn’t about the smut but the relationship, you know? Shounen ai and shoujo gives it time for the relationship to grow while when it comes to smut you’ve got to get to the point both in yaoi, yuri, and straight stories so there isn’t time for the story at times. But nonetheless I get what you mean with the whole awareness it’s good to have things out there be said out loud. I hope I don’t sound annoying （＾ω＾）

honestly I agree with you! if you remember the hotel scene, yuki looked like he was guilt tripping the bottom. I felt really bad honestly, wish he had his own options. also the rape was unnecessary, the plot could’ve been different.

I know this is several months late but I just wanted to say that good yaoi stories with no rape/manipulation or forced situations do exist, there's just so much of those so the safe ones are hard to find. There are even those that don't sacrifice the story for smut, it just takes a while to find the really good ones.
When I first started reading yaoi and met something like this I was super shocked, then I kinda got desensitized to ignore the rape and manipulation, then it started pissing me off again after I found the really good manga, so I just completely ignore them now.
i was so suprised that the mc was actually diffrent and not a basic ass harem protoganist and looked cool too(shoujo manga does have good ml's sometimes but they're not the mc and the story isnt told by their view) but then of course it was yaoi, im not complaining at all enjoyed this but i wish we had more manga from males perspective and more conplex male characters(tgat arent yaoi or shoujo)
