No, he actually rejected her, but she said she will keep trying to make him fall for her despite his rejection, he understood her because the same occured with Ichika, she flat out rejected him but let him keept saying he loves her until she finally fell in love for him; that is what his colleage whants and the're is nothing he can do to stop her, is not like he can punch her, he can only waits until she gaves up or he starts dating Ichika, whatever happens first. The only thing is worrying him now is Ichika's feelings, how she feels about other people judgment aginst them, and how this age gap would affect her in the future, he doesn't want to be selfish, and hurt her because of what other people say about them.
Age gap is not a bad thing as long as is consented, non of them gets hurt, and they respect and undertand each other, their familly knows about them, there is no power bound like one that could tie one of them and no one of them are being threatened by the other, there is no abuse nor forcefull aproaching (like holding onto them forcefully or against their will) and despite the age gap, the one that is the minor has fully undarstament of the situation; so this doesn't include people with dementia, people with mental isues or the ones that have maturational delay or kids that haven't get to puberty (under 10 to 14) so they may not have full comprehension of what is happening; however there are some kids that mature earlier than others, this can be examined by a psychologist to see in which state of maturity the minor is in. This is my point of view as a lawyer, and I am not deffending Ryou im just pointing out considerations from the law point of view. I lived for Yumi x Hansol couple more that the main one, their relationship was so smooth that it was perfect, no angst just simplicity, they get along so well, I would have liked to see more extras of them and them kissing. in the first couple the guy made everything, he was so sweet and so patient that I even pitied him.
