Im a little sad? I thought this manwha would show the push and pull of their relationship since Lucia said theyd live separate lives, so she could be free from the abusive man in her dreams. Instead, Lucia and the duke are having sex like bunnies and there's not much development? Like yea the duke clearly sees her differently, but the manwha makes it seem like it just happened because of their sex. What happened to our independent Lucia? She just blushes 24/7 at anything at this point. What are your opinions?
I agree.
I even read the novel, when there was barely any chapter of the manhwa, and even that annoyed me. I have no issue with smut, but the way it was written, it was way too focused on the male part of the pleasure, her wants and likes were kind of not there, she was just having sex for the sake of having sex, that was how it was seen for me. Like, I could not see an adult woman that enjoys sex acting the way she did, like no.
They tried to make a story, but it was just porn and not an enjoyable one (for me). And the way they described the whole ordeal it was so cringy, like, legit, I was rolling my eyes 80% of the time. If you like it or not, trusting or not, let's just penetrate and everything would be good. I skipped most of their "smut quality time" and just read the rest, so I could find out if the other areas of their lives would improve, e.g. communication issues, character's growth, their relationship with others, etc.
Started reading all happy for the context they provided me, but left utterly disappointed by the way they were portrayed until the end.
But again, that was how it was for me.
PS: English is not my mother language, so I apologize for any mistakes commited.
I totally know what you mean, I felt like this when reading the novel! Sex is definitely a (surprisingly) large part of the plot development. It lays the foundation for their relationship and kinda lets them live in a happy bubble. No spoilers, I’ll just say that in the novel the line between sex and love becomes clear and there is major development.
On another note, I think Lucia is a unique heroine. She IS independent, but once she gets wants she wants (marrying the duke and having a stable future) she is comfortable letting the Duke take control and not being a “strong” proactive FL. I think her power is more in her agency (And her control of the Duke ). She stays innocent in some ways, but she will definitely won’t stand for disrespect.
Okay this ain't about the medicine, but for the RAW CHAPS (spoiler warning)
We can all agree that seungho threw away nakyum's white headband signifying that nakyum's innocence is gone (since white is the color of innocence and he yeeted that ish into the fire). It's also probably foreshadowing into the future chaps
Is there a novel? I somehow cant find it if there is one
