The Father. A Scumbag who'll live with regret.
That's all it's about.
Pretty much sums it up. From the beginning, until the end, he was really the true antagonist of this whole story. Worst than the actual Demon, since it was solely based by his own actions that led up to the despair and destruction of people around him.
The man was well known for being Neutral, to the extent that he kept his own children pretty much locked up in the house.
While they both excelled academically and had a wide array of knowledge, Socially they were inept. (More so for Kiera)
Because of this, under the pretext of maintaining neutrality he pretty much just stood in the sidelines and watched as his First Wife suffered abuse.
Using the Grand Dukes neutrality as leverage the Second Wife's family created more oppurtunties for misunderstandings and insults directed to the First Wife.
Even after knowing the family of his Second Wife hired assassins to kill the First Wife and her family, he remained neutral.
The First Wife was slandered of being barren, unable to give birth.
Except she was actually pregant. In despair of her situation she formed a contract with a Demon who she offered her soul to, to protect her unborn child and take revenge on the Parvis family.

This is where it gets wierd, since I'm not given enough context to know who they're talking about which is confusing. It could swing either way in decribing the First Wife and her own brother or if she herself actually gave birth to fraternal twins. I have a source that says Son, and there's this which clearly talks about Two people. Either way we at least know she gave birth to a girl.
The Demon contracted took possesion of the body and in the process killed off the child in doing so. So from the very start the child in the womb never lived.
Fulfilling the phrophecy, but it is ambigious to the readers if the Water spirit would have changed masters even if the real Cosette had lived.
Cosette is older than Kiera.
There was a sole member of the First Wifes family who survived, and that was her brother. He is now an Earl, and wants revenge.
I'm not sure if he also made a contract with the same Demon as his sister, but they make contact and as you can see in the webtoon he was the one who introduced Cosette.
In the first 회귀 (timeline) The Earl and the First wifes Revenge was succesful and the world turned into Hell.
Going back just a bit, when Cosette arrived and there was confusion among the masses, as to who the real daughter was there was a vote that took place on whether to execute Kiera.
For all his political posturing as a Neutral party the Grand Duke himself voted to Kill off his own daughter.
At the time he actually knew that Kiera was his biological daughter, but still sent her off to the guillotine.
Present time, when Cosette actually arrives the plot becomes almost comical. Since the fight between the two girls is more of a psychological warfare, with verbal insults hurled at the other rather than being physical.
Cosette is a Demon she can't control the spirits. Some one here said it could be her bloodline, but the comments keep talking about her 마술 -her magic so I'm not sure. Being a Demon can you control a Divine being?

However, as soon as the Spirit was activated, Cosette manifested her powers first and Kiera became the Fake princess.
This is the scene where Kiera was able to draw out her Spirit, but was beaten to the punch by Cosette. In shock she never realized she actally succeeded, which then led to her demise.
The Demon doesn't follow human logic, it killed off all those who signed with it. Is what one reviewer said.
The Grand Duke now wants to be treated like a father, which is irresponsible condsidering everything that he's done. Neglect, borderline abuse and passing the blame.

Conflicts are not really explained. The concept is heavy, but the writing is light.
The ending is an open end, where Kiera is seen going on a trip. Traveling and exploring the world, this is after her and her brother completley cut ties with their father.
The conclusion being She will continue to walk her own path.
The Novel genre is 로판 which is just an abbreviation for Romance Fantasy.
Like I said earlier there is no Romance, but if you look at it from a different perspective you can define the plot more as Self Love and Growth.
A prim and proper Lady being exposed to the ways of the world is really an eye-opener on how sheltered her life had been.
In a sense it's a more realistic approach on finding independace outside of duty and obligation, and experiencing how the world really works and functions.

The love story between the princess and the knight became famous as plays and musicals spread out through the empire. Even Rimona's group was doing it. Rimona would proudly play the role of the 7th princess in the plays.
Igdras that was once a land of waste is now the best territory. It became known for it's academia, magic, alchemy, medicine, food (they would make monsters taste good), agriculture. They also abolished the system where they would used to send criminals to Dandelion post. All the intermediate homunculus were accepted as vessels and subjects of ML as Igdras then became central military power under ML. The place became a territory of economic and military power.
Anais was talking to MC about how they recently discovered the black gold mines (well it's recently released publicly since MC found this when she scour the area and told ML to leave it for the territory, ML had long planned to use this as dowry). Anais was saying how the mines are now dedicated to the imperial family. Julia seemed to realize something as she commented that the dowry should be at least that much.
The mining village Lapis (where MC and ML visited early in the story) labor was reduced. And those who lost their homes were allowed to relocate to Igdras to help boost the economy.
Elijah who had been given everything that was once Chansley's now deal with them. His method is to eradicate evil with evil so his punishments are quite bloody, but it worked well.
Upon ML's return, MC and Alben got excited. Prince Euclid (8th prince) who came back from the academy escorted Stefania. Stefania told him that he's like a knight now that he learned swordsmanship. He thank her. He asked her isn't she surprised he came to escort her and not Litber (Stefania's personal knight).
It was since titles were conferred to homunculus, the royal family did not seem to welcome the changes as the tradition to exploit personal knights have changed. MC told them imprint had been invalid already due to ML. She had told her siblings to go check. She explained ML's ability as the king of homunculus was able to remove the imprint. It was Rosie who helped MC and told them that is the reason why the emperor allowed ML to marry MC. She played it off as if it's a political marriage that MC was willing to sacrifice herself to marry ML. Her other siblings start to feel bad for MC.
All the siblings met up with ML and Alben. ML questioned to Alben about the ranking between them. Since ML is the fiance of the crowned princess, he has higher ranking than the other princes and princess so they have to greet him properly. Ruben was happy with it but he did it. ML talked to Albel about Sylvetian's condition.
Rosie had been taking care of him everyday for half a year. The twin princesses visited Rosie who was nursing Slyvetian. She told them to be quiet since there's a patient. She was reading a medical book. It was then the twins exclaimed Sylvetian's eyes had opened up. Rosie dropped her book and went to check. It was then their eyes met and he tried to say something with difficulty since he haven't spoke in a long time. She started to explain to him what had happened and he remembered. Sylvetian realized his muscles have gotten smaller since he haven't worked out and apologized for his appearance. Rosie told him that's not important right now and told him she's glad he had woken up. She was worried a lot. She started to apologize to him and told him she's glad he survived since he have to be happy.
Rosie told him that he have to now call MC Crown Princess now and then she whispered something to Slyvetian that today is.... She was going to leave him alone to cry as she thought he would be sad from the news but he shook his head and said it deserves a congratulation and also because he will be happy.
It was the day of the wedding for MC and ML. The emperor wasn't pleased but he was still there. They exchanged vows and rings. When it came to the kiss, the emperor broke the handle. ML gave her a long kiss that even embarrassed the nobles. It was so long they had to tell him it's over and they should stop. It only ended when the emperor restrained him. The place burst into laughter. Alben told them they have to give birth to 3 kids. Elijah wasn't sure why since they only need 2, one for the imperial, one for the duke. Alben said ofc his child. He looked at Sadella.
MC told ML she can now keep her promise to make a baby with him. She had studied forbidden alchemy. It'll be difficult but they'll succeed. She told him it's a ritual where they have to do it for 10 days consciously. MC worried about ML's stamina. He told her tragically he will try. She told him she'll get Peony to make him lots of healthy food. They smiled at each other. She promised she will make him happy and he responded he trust her.
Later MC became the 17th emperor who was regarded as a special entity in the history of the empire. There was no one who doesn't know her name. Even their love story was famous. Epic poems were made of their tale and heroism. She only ever have 1 companion the Grand Duke of Igdras and 3 children with him. The eldest daughter became the 18th emperor, the 1st twin prince after succeeded the duke and the 2nd twin prince married the Count Linus (Alben was Baron of Linus and in side story he became a Count and he finally have a child with Sadella and that child became the next Count).
Her life after her reign was peaceful and quiet where she retired to the Crescent Lake of Serenitia with ML. By that time she was already a great sage and ML had already reached the peak ability of swordsmanship. They were lives that transcended regular lives so it was said every time the empire is in crisis, they will appear. Even after thousands of years had passed they continued to watch the empire like guardians.
IDK if their children can control homunculus. Luckily their first child has alchemy ability (which homunculus don't have) so she was able to become emperor. The emperor really favored his grandchild and was going to give her a lab when she first unlocked her alchemy ability at 3, but ended up giving the lab to MC. MC wanted more children but the emperor didn't want her to suffer cause the childbirth process was excruciating. Took her 2 years to finally give birth to her first daughter.
Their first daughter have her lime blonde hair and ML's purple eyes.

It was then the og!sinner(Catherine) said she was going to borrow it and went down to the world to scatter it. Absorbing one piece for herself. Since for the humans what she did was a meritorious act that granted great prosperity to them she became famous and rich from the power that was scattered and the power she absorbed.
She died with great power, acclaim, and riches. The Goddess now crippled, weak, and betrayed sees how her power is being abused. The world she loves distorted. With enormous effort calls the MC's soul to her and downloads her into the body of a villainess with knowledge of the "book." So when the Goddess said that Catherine was the beginning of the end and the MC is the start of a new beginning it wasn't a falsehood. Now the Goddess is whole with her own power again. She can forgive humans because she adored the MC and give a special exception to Harry because he aided her with all the tasks given by her to MC.
THE GODDESS IS EQUALLY COLD.
She pretended to be a Priest and outed Catherine as a horrible sinner calling forth a black smoke that emanates from her soul. The Goddess curses her to live an unhappy, frustrated life, and unable to understand why... for many lifetimes to come. Catherine collapses. This is after Catherine tries to accuse MC to be a witch, but instead sees her get blessed by the Goddess to become a mini Goddess instead.

Catherine’s fishery

Because he was talked into it by the Emperor. The Crown Prince was still waffling but said the MC might be a threat. When he heard that he thought about the OG!Heroine and how he wanted to protect her. MC knew the Prince is too weak-willed in reality and has no backbone. Also, unlike the Emperor, he showed real embarrassment and remorse. Also, unlike his older brother who already earned the MC's trust and gains power in her court is a much powerful Duke than himself. Something he has to deal with for the rest of his life. The shame and the realization that even compared to his brother he isn't that great. On top of that, he waits for the OG!Heroine to get out of the temple. From the end of the main story. He is still waiting. I think it's a double whammy his love will never be fulfilled. Thus, in a way it is pretty fucking awful for him.
Why the fucker's life sux:
- He will never be the King.
- He learns he was never the rightful king
- The brother he thinks that he was always better than beat him in politics and earned already a place of trust in the new government.
- He sees under the MC's rule that the Kingdom become more powerful and accomplished in her short ass tenure of 20 years as Emperor than he could ALL HIS FUCKING LIFE.
- His chosen waifu has issues and has locked herself away in a Temple for the rest of her life due to the Goddess's curse. While he pines away for her.
- It is implied he basically has no presence anywhere in anyone of importance's life. Which must suck for a guy who loves himself oh so much.
2.1st Prince is wish of staying alive. The only reason he wanted to be King was due to the fact he felt it was his only way to be alive. Following MC as a Marquis of her newly established kingdom get him that and more. So he’s out of the fishery.
3.Luke gets more of a challenge (MC is always almost killed or kidnapped) and better pay when around the MC. So no he is out of the fishery.
4.The prime Minister was also part of the fishery but he gets schooled up North. So he has other things to worry about than Catherine so he is out.
5. The Knight feels more at home with himself after being told his voice is wonderful. On top of that she is the owner of the Holy Sword. In his eyes she is the rightful King. He follows her because it fulfills him more as a Knight. He was long out of Catherine’s fishery.
MC doesn’t really care about any of them as long as they don’t bother her or <3Harry<3.
CATHERINE

MC removed the power from her body in the sewers when the OG!Heroine was on the run.
MC was like:"I will rip out the power from your heart. Show me your chest." The
OG!Heroine: YOU'RE GOING TO KILL ME.
MC knocks heroine unconscious puts her hand over her heart sees something shiny move into her. Later, goes to the temple to return the power.
****the curse/black smog already existed as soon as the OG!Sinner stole the power - it was temporarily neutralized because of the goddess's power that she had on hand. What the Goddess did was basically rubbing a naughty puppy's face into its own mess but exposing the curse to the OG!Heroine/Catherine. The grudge is strong in this one.
The reason why MC was chosesn by the Holy Sword at all because:

Harry is so cute and innocent. On the day of the coronation, he hears MC proposing marriage to the dwarf girl that works for her because it's a dwarf's ability to seek and find gold mines. For the coronation present, she gifts it to MC and tells her not to worry over the national budget since she will be supporting her. Harry in a cute bout of jealousy starts competing and said he could bring down the stars in the sky right now.
MC shuts it down and was like - if you could give me the stars why not diamonds?
The dwarf girl is all - it must be tough having such an innocent man to protect~
MC is all - he's so adorable I can't but want to tease him!
Also, many spirits give blessings on Harry to make sure he is able to be fertile enough to conceive children. LOLZ.

In modern times, she accomplished all her wishes. Retire young, have a shit ton of money, throw her resignation letter in her boss's face, and of course, have Harry by her side.

-Ayla and Killian return to the Duke's Estate. Aslan and Ayla try to cook again and fail. Their father throws them out of the kitchen and ends up cooking with Killian.
Ayla tells her family that she will be leaving for some time and she loves them. Her father tells her to be healthy. Its a very awkward atmosphere but Killian still finds this funny.
-Ayla decides that she can't sacrifice Killian. She is glad that Kilian is immortal because she can one day meet him again. Time passes slowly in heaven and there was a chance that everyone she knew would be dead. She tearfully leaves Killian telling him that she will meet him again. However when she touches the butterfly, KIllian hugs her from behinds and is transported to the dream world/heaven with her.
Killian finally meets Rezerb and walks towards him. Killian says that he cannot hurt someone who is a part of Ayla. He reveals that he had cast soul binding magic on her and now they are connected for life and death .If someone tries to forcibly remove the magic, their bodies will be torn apart.
Ayla glare at Rezerb because he never told her that their was a way to stay in the human world. Rezerb says that he was lonely. He tells her that she has to live in the human world still she dies. Killian tells her to do what she wanted with his soul when he dies. She thinks about turning him into A God( I think he is not immortal anymore, but it isn't clear. But then Mc is God so she can do anything I guess)
-Dark street is now under Rotullo's control. Polan leaves the palace and sets up a business with Ayla.
- Ayla is rewarded by the palace for her services and a ball is organised for her
-Ayla had asked Sophia to take care of Charlotte but wanted to see her for herself
-She finally realises that Aslan was Linte when she sees that the handwritten note by Linte is in the same handwriting as Aslan. They also share similar writing styles. She is annoyed that he hid the truth but still understands and asks if he wants to be a writer. She doesn't consider his work shameful but knows that he will be overburdened if he would be a Duke too.
-Ayla is listening to ml and fl talk with the help of Killian's powers. Charlotte rejects Cp and says that he loves Ayla and had even organized a ball in her honour.
-Ayla tries to tell Killian there is no reason to worry as comparing Killian to Cp is like comparing God to amoeba
- When mc was in Korea she had had a dream of og Ayla who wanted the prince to fall in love with her and mc had told her to do whatever she wants. Since God's words had power that might be the biggest reason for her to return to this world.
-Ayla hides with the help of Killian's magic in the ball.Since Ayla is now going to be the Duke, she cannot be someone's mistress. So Cp is bothering Charlotte again:facepalm:
She tells him that she doesn't care about him anymore. Cp tells her that she is useless without him and has no money. Charlotte answers that she knows that and that her family would want her to be happy even if they are poor. Once Cp is gone, Ayla approaches Charlotte and asks her to do business with her.
-Ayla ends up becoming close friends with Charlotte. Both of them along with Polan set up a famous dressing room. Polan thinks that sales will be affected if Ayla's name is revealed as people consider Ayla to be Villain even now.But Ayla refuses to do anything. The concept of the store is freedom and Ayla wants to show that everyone is free to whatever they want in spite of what other people think. Charlotte supports her saying that all of them are here thanks to Ayla
- There are still rumours about Ayla that she corrupted their saint as no one can actually blame the prince
But both Ayla and Charlotte ignore them
-Killian's possessiveness and jealousy regarding Ayla keeps increasing. He finally asks her to marry him. Ayla is hesitant because once they get married and it is revealed that Killian's title is fake then the entire dukedom will be at risk. Killian tells her that he will be her lover then

-Ayla finds herself in flying in the air following the butterflies. She meets a man with white hair and skin and a halo around his head. Rezerb introduces himself as a part of Ayla/Eco reeve. He tells her that he only made her aware of being a God and everything else was done by her. Because she loved people she wanted her novel characters to be happy.
She wrote about the world subconsciously in the novel. The world lured her in. She met Killian because he was a' foreign object'. God's word have strength. So when she made a promise to turn back time for Ayla (In the manhwa's chapter one she wishes that Ayla passed without any regrets) she ended up creating loops.
-Ayla asks why he didn't help Killian. But he answers that he did send angels. Rezerb is only a part of Ayla and had no power to intervene. He didn't come infront of Killian as he was scared of him
-Rezerb tells her to take back Killian's power to prevent the destruction of the world and get back her memories. Ayla asks if she can stop being a God. He says that he can do that but the world won't remain in complete balance as he is not a perfect being. Eco reeve had been handling the entire dimension alone and they needed more help. Since Aayla is God she can create more Gods and transfer her duties. Ayla wonders if she can turn Killian into one. Rezerb informs her that she only has one week left.
-IN the real world one month has passed. Ayla wakes up in Rotullo. She cries on seeing Killian who decides to kill anyone who had upset her even if it was God. She reveals herself as Eco Reeve and tells him to give her any punishment he wants but he just kisses her. She tells him that she has to leave in a week.
Killian looks like he is about to reach his limit. He reminds her of what he told her when they talked about angels. That he would bring her down to live with him and they wont break up. Ayla also doesn't want to leave him and decides to find a way. She ask if he would still not mind if she asks him to be God. She knows that even if its not intentional she is asking him to sacrifice for her again.
-Killian tells Ayla that now instead of sacrificing for others she should try to be loved. Ayla wonders why she craved for affection so much. Why she had devoted herself to the people and why she had written a book where the mc was so loved.
-Killian engraves a pattern on Ayla's wrist and also on his own but doesn't tell her why. He kneels infront of her and tells her that he wanted to die but now he wants to live. He kisses her foot and tells her that he will corrupt her.

At first she really selfish and want all the male leads attention on her.. but later on a lot happened tho I don't know the details cause I read few spoiler chapter. I think around the accident with Lennox(one of the fishes.. prince's knight who escort Charlotte back to her hometown if I'm not mistaken) she kinda realized her own action after the monsters attacked. Cause before this everyone view her as "angel/kind".. the knight say to her that he never expected her image/attitude to be like that. After that, she started to change and if I'm not mistake she also said she can only show her true action/attitude when she with Ayla.
Did they get married? Have children? But nonetheless IM HAPPY ITS A HAPPY ENDING!
I also don't know about that.. so far no one spoiler about side story.. hope this novel also have side story just like other novels
