As much as I love manga and reading, I've found that such things (including tv) only serve as a distraction and if I'm having a bad day I usually feel bad again when I stop reading/watching (maybe a bit better sometimes tho). I've been depressed for a good portion of my life. Reading manga once brought me genuine pleasure and served as a nice distraction, but it's never been the cure.
