So let me clarify in the novel, diana was actually getting poisoned as far as i can remember. It wasn't the child that was killing her. She would have lived. Yes there were times when claude and diana were having fights about it and the manhwa didn't convey it right about Diana's character but diana had deep fallen for the child in her belly. It was a child made from the love of her and claude, she could not by motherly love choose herself over the child she was already so in love.
