Well from his expressions it seems like he has completely changed and doesn't remember that he loved the mc once. While the mc seems really awkward around him he has more of a playboy vibe.

Yeah I never got that either, we greet each other with a kiss on the cheek in my country(well not right now because pandemic) and hugs and pda are normal even with friends but a kiss on the lips are for romantic love only (unless you are drunk, people get even more ok with pda when drunk)
