Apparently he is using Yu' Er to entrap the emperor and become emperor himself. In future chapters the emperor meets Yu' Er after the very "jealous" seme entices him by keeping Yu' Er's presence hidden and with the help of his sister, the emperor sneaks in and glimpses and looks enthralled by Yu' Er's beauty. This after the very "jealous" seme conveniently leaves to take care of something after teasing the emperor's curiousity. When I saw that chapter, I was wondering why he would leave him like that when the emperor has been made so curious over him. It was just very suspicious.
Also, in the novel (not fully translated) he is extremely violent with Yu' Er. He is forceful and hurts him and also savages him sexually which this manga doesn't do, or even hints at. In the novel as well, he doesn't know that Yu' Er is a man because of some trick/drug that Yu' Er performs but in the manga it is clear he is aware that Yu' Er is a man and doesn't care. So this story is a bit different than the original novel but that scene with the emperor arriving kinda confirms that the seme will be using Yu' Er, whether in this version of things it is on purpose or as revenge, it is hard to tell yet.

One more thing...

....................................
In the scene where he cuts Yu' Er after he gets jealous over his dancing in public, in the novel it is made clear that he rapes Yu' Er savagely for 2 hours and he only cut that rape short because he had something to take care of in the morning. In the manga, I think there is a hint that Yu' Er was also raped with the subtle presentation of the balm the servant brings and Yu' Er refuses to have him put it on him but is told by the servant that "she" should do it "herself" then. I think the balm was meant to go somewhere private as well...

so from what ive gathered from the book is the emperor( the princesses brother) comes and is greeted by the prince and is escorted back to court, the emperor (forgot his name) wants to see yu’er cause he wants to see how beautiful he is cause everyone talks about it, but the prince doesn’t allow him to but ‘ol emperor doesn’t care and he tries to visit his room but it super guarded so he ask his sister to help him out i believe?? he ends up seeing him by this lake and is totally captivated by him and im assuming he wants to have him...? anyways he ends up going over to him and talking to him. the prince finds out about them meeting (i believe he thinks they messed around thanks to rumors the princess made up dumb bitch)and him being a possessive jealous asshole he takes it out on yu’er and doesn’t acknowledge his existence.
What really broke my heart is the dice that his mother gave him(the one with the red bean) he ends craving the princes name on it and giving it to him, only for the prince to not give two sh*ts about it, he tosses it in the snow...yu’er ends up crawling and looking for it everywhere, he ends up getting cut and starts bleeding. All while asshole prince watches him and ends up leaving him to look of it, when he finds it and tries again to give it to him, he throws it on the ground and crushes it with his foot and he says something along the lines of “it’s childish never do this again” something like that. Yu’er is heartbroken and cries and the one servant guy attends to his him
After waking up he goes to the princes study and i believe he end up seeing the prince and one of his concubines? (dont know whether it’s the princess or??) going at it, and he doesn’t know what to do, he ends up staying and hearing them talking ill about him and he gets really upset and runs back to the infirmary and ask the servent about wanting to move. He ends up staying at the infirmary fending for himself there, and the princess ends up messing with him again.
he’s basically get treated like shit for no reason ヽ(`Д´)ノ where the book left off i think poor baby is trying to find away back to be with his mother. Hopefully i made sense the novel translation is hard to understand
( ̄∇ ̄")o lol

Yep.
At least these are some of the spoilers that I read in the comments here from someone who said they read the book (which is mostly untranslated to English so I haven't read it). These comments were the ones saying the prince is using Yu' Er to gain power and supplant the Emperor (who is so hot btw). The scene with the emperor sneaking a peek at Yu' Er, I saw. I think it is chap 21 (also not in English).
Again, the manga seems pretty tame compare to some of the spoilers I have been seeing here so I don't know what they'll chose to change, or go for.
I thought the prince was kinda nice but if this is true he is a true villain

Also in those spoilers I read here, the person was saying that the prince is basically trying to extract some secret medicine (not sure) or something, that the emperor has control over as a way to get the upper hand and it sounds like he is hoping that Yu' Er will find that secret (to me that sounds like he might be forcing Yu' Er to do this) and apparently Yu' Er belongs to the tribe/village/family that can do this secret medicine thing.
Anyways, it should be in the comments for the day chapter 13 came out.

Yeah. I started reading the chapter where he hangs and cuts Yu' Er on his jealous fit and I thought that was bad enough but he rapes him for hours too. Also, when he first sleeps with Yu' Er, in the book, he damages his hand to the point that it is a permanent injury (that's shown briefly here but nothing really was made of it - I swear Yu' Er must be related to Wolverine from the X-men because he keeps recuperating from cuts and bone breaks and poison like it was just a cold).
This doesn't happen here.
That's why I take the book spoilers lightly. The manga is a shounen ai so they may have really lighten the plot. I think they'll use stuff from it but make more romantic.
I wouldn't mind him using Yu' Er because I also read sometime ago in the comments here that Yu' Er does make him grovel later and I would love that to be true.

Yu' Er has been mistreated, as much as his mother tried to protect him, all his young life. It is going to take him a while to build up confidence. Honestly, I would love for the emperor to take him, even if Yu' Er loves the prince, because I think he would cherish him in a healthier manner and that would help him build himself up.
He would have a foundation to compare how he should be treated rather than the only example he now has, which is how he can expect to always be treated.
The emperor looked very, very taken with Yu' Er and they have not even made eye contact yet.

Just following up on this old post with Spoilers as requested by some of you in the comments...
Note that based off on the spoilers left by some commenters from the novel this manhua does appear to be a little different from novel. Though, imo, it makes more sense.
Please read below for some spoilers on chapter 23 of the manhua....

Using crappy Google translate, so please forgive me if I misinterpreted the chapter (parts of chapter 22 and 23 are included).
The Emperor has come either out of curiosity about Yu'Er, or to put the prince in his place (IDK) using the ceremony that the prince has requested to make Yu'Er his consort and hidden concubine as the excuse to be there.
Emperor's interest in Yu'Er's beauty is elevated due to the prince's refusals to let the Emperor meet Yu'Er, no matter how many times he expresses his interest or tries to out think the prince into agreeing, the prince seems to skillfully navigate away from what the emperor wants.
With his sister's help (The prince's wife) and the Prince's absence, he manages to make it inside the gardens of Yu'Er's place, where he finds him outside.
Yu'Er is holding the pendant he has been wanting to give the prince to declare his love for him and has engraved the prince's name on it. While admiring it, unbeknownst to him the Emperor watches him enthralled and approaches from behind.
Twigs snap. Yu'Er thinks it is the prince and turns around to find the Emperor gazing upon him from a breath away.
He talks to him and google translates fails me yet again, so all I could grasp is that the emperor was inviting himself into Yu'Er's rooms. He tries to use Yu'Er's initial confusion against him as a way to gain access to his apartments but he refuses, slamming the door behind him and denying the emperor access.
Important to note, that Yu'Er no longer has the pendant and has not realized this.
Meanwhile, the emperor is behind the doors requesting that Yu'Er keeps his visit a secret and not tell the prince of his presence there (I see trouble ahead - poor Yu'Er is very ignorant (my poor baby) and will make the wrong choice again)
The prince was not "conveniently" gone but tricked away by the emperor and upon learning this he realizes that the emperor probably tried to meet with Yu'Er and heads that way right away (he also learns the bodyguard who serves Yu'Er left at the behest of the princess). He arrives at Yu'Er's apartments where Yu'Er is barefooted and cold from just coming from outside and acting nervous.
The prince has concluded that the emperor was there and when he finds Yu'Er looking that way his heckles go up. He is already on edge because he is quite insecure about Yu'Er's feelings for him and has attached his recent refusals to sleep with him and push him away to his lack of confidence in those feelings and his distrusting nature (note that he called out the correct reason - his wife - but Yu'Er's insecurities on HIS feelings prevented him from telling him the truth and seeking his help).
The prince thinks something is up and Yu'Er is questioned whether a "thief" that escaped made it to his apartments. I think Yu'Er will lie to him because the hints for the next chapter show him and the prince in a very hostile position.
