I have a really close friend who's recently been acting differently and saying a lot of things related to suicide such as them just wanting to jump out a window and how tired of everything they are. I'm pretty concerned about them and want to help them but I don't know how.

tell someone at school. Even if you're their friend and this might count as "snitching" they might take their own life. They need professional help and the school will help them.

I had a friend in middle school and ent about saying how she self-harms and wanted to die, i told a teacher.
someone in my class last year got reported for wanting to kill herself and she was forced to stay in a mental hospital i think? she was actually thankful someone reported her before she took her own life

It's best to tell a teacher, and or even try talking her out of it. But the best choice would be telling the teachers, so they can help her.

I used to be like your friend. I just couldnt ask for help about my suicidal thoughts so rather than that I would just act strangely. Say that you appreciate them out of nowhere. The next time your friend talks about jumping, tell them that you would be devastated to lose someone like them. Make them valued, they need it. Think about the times what you would do if you lost them, and make them feel your pain. This way they wont be able to leave this world because at least they have you.I hope this will help.

The worst thing you can do for someone who's suicidal is talking them out of it if you don't have professionam training. The wrong word or phrase can trigger them into going through eith it.

I watched "13 Reasons Why", and i think everyone should watch too, because you get to know the reasons and what motivate a person to kill herself... Of course nobody get to understand 100% about that persone who wants to end live..
My exemple: i'm ashamed of myself because i'm not good at ANYTHING, i'm disapointing my family EVERY SINGLE DAY, and i just start thinking that would be best if i was gone. But, even if i want to end my life, i can't. I think that's because I have a strong mind, and i look for help. I don't go saying"hey i'm thinking killing myself, i need help", no, i just GET OUT, hang out with friends. I just.. search for a reason.
About helping your friend is not keep quite about it, talk to her, talk with a teacher or with a member of family.... But u have to speak! Of course carefully...

Yeah, talking them out isn't a good option if you don't have experience. It's just better to hear them out properly if they want to speak about it to you. '^'

Talk to her parents in private and ask them if something happened. Tell them your concerns.
And if you're not close enough to her parents to talking about it, tell a teacher that you're worried about her.
