Reminds me of my best friend since the begginging of high school.
I joined late so she was the one who picked me up because "I looked lonely" (lmao I was so embarrassed so be told that haha)
We were pretty inseparable and people always thought we were dating, but she never cared what everyone else said and was always there for me no matter what.
Then one day she moved and got a girlfriend, never "properly" talked to me since. Once every few months we'll message eachother, but it usually is like a "hi, how are you" "good, how about you?" And then no response. When I message her first I usually just don't get an answer at all.
I was a little (alot) upset at first, since she specifically told me I better stay in contact with her once she left, yet she dropped me so quickly.
She's been gone for about a year now (feels so much longer) and alot of things still remind me of her, but at the same time I get it.
I know how being friends with someone who people originally thought you were dating could ruin your relationship (and her girlfriend seems super nice from what I've heard threw another friend who, -unlike me- was still able to talk to her normally and visit regularly) so I can't be mad at her either since they are happy now, but it hurts.
It'll all hopefully heal with time, and I just need to give it that time that it needs. Everything happens for a reason, and maybe we just weren't meant to be, so as long as she doesn't completely forget about me, even if I just cross her mind every now like the way she does for me, then I'll be happy. And I hope she's living a good life. That's the most I can do for now, and it's just something I have to accept.
Not everything will last forever.

I think NoThankYou covered it but he’s just very toxic. Keep in mind that I read the first version years ago, but he always demands more of Crush then what they both consented to. All while not being willing to offer half of the support Crush provides him.
Then, if Crush has a conversation with him about it like, “hey, I think there’s a bit of a misunderstanding between us”. Dude rages on him and says a punch of out of pocket sh*t that’s really hurtful. After which, he complains and acts like a victim.
I will never deny that Crush is a mess, but he keep it 100. He’s not the best lover and he knows. God...trust me...he knows...so much it hurts. However, he is triple SSS+ friend. Scott is aware and kind of weaponizes this against him even though they aren’t dating. I hate Scott so much with his victim complex. My favorite quote from him is “ why do I always fall for traumatized people” while playing the victim to his best friend. His best friend is really quality and he doesn’t deserve him.
Anyway, I love Crush. Scott is right and Crush is dripping with trauma so much that he’s not even aware that he is carrying so much. BUT HE KNOWS HE’S GOT SOME. He is trying. I love how he never uses it as an excuse even though this also make him self-depreciating.

I never finished it so I don’t know. There was a new character introduced that I hated more than mr.woe is me so I took a break. When I was gonna pick it up again the reboot already started. I’m like 90% sure Reuben is end game. The other 10% is if a new character is introduced.

I'm absolutely the same. I hate that Yaa made Scott more "relatable " and started making excuses for him from the start. And I ABSOLITELY HATE that he is made so much more good looking! She seems to have worked so much more on his design rather then Reuben's . Seriously Reuben was supposed to be the hot guy and he looks so dull now... in the old version he was so much better... and his character too, he was a dunce before but just slightly, now it seems like his only characteristics. I really hope things change soon... so far the older version was far superior it told so much more without actually using words, not it seems to be the opposite
The original never had an ending. Yaa said it was gonna be a VERY slow burn. It didn't even get to the main events of the series. Crush was about to confront his past and his sex life was just gonna explode in the school. Most we had was the character's inner thoughts, their pasts and their mental states. Which were all bad honestly. Ohhh and Reuben was contemplating trying to bottom, which was kinda cool

I disliked him at first too. But it's kinda forgivible if u think that he's a dolphin and doesn't know human morals (actually real-life dolphins r pretty scary, since they literally rape others of their species).
I don't remember the entire story too much bcuz I read it long time ago, but I liked the end it got me kinda emotional. It's definetelly worth reading it!! I'm rlly excited this is getting updated, so this isthe best time for u to read
He seems rude and uncaring because he's not human. He doesn't understand human morality or practices. That's why he acts like that. Unlike the pink dude who seems more smarter and has figured out how human society work, the dolphin seme hasn't yet. Around chapter 25 or so on is when his "inhuman" nature is really discussed about. It does get better as the dolphin seme finally understand what human love and relationship is.
Also, the second couple is one of the best couples I have ever seen. Their story is really really good.
