Just cuz shes a good person dont mean she dumb, whats wrong with talking buisness with a buisness partner? She studied polsci in this world and was a lit professor in her previpus so obv she gonna be educated and she saw the oppurtunity to use her knowlegde to get the merchant girl to aknowledge her so she obv would take it, whats so hard to understand abt that??

We barely got to know her tho? Besides from the beginning when she figured out the political situation of the household because of one conversation with Helen you could see she's not a simple person. Helen herself said so! And Helen was right, her only mistake was thinking that MC has some greed for the household's power in her. MC has no such greed, but she's never been a fully white type of character. I also don't understand the 'nurturing, generally on the good spectrum' description. You thought of her as a stereotypical character for the genre and are disappointed because she has an actual character beyond a stereotype? Her own thoughts and feelings and unique sense of morality? Well, all I can say then is that you like very shallow characterisation and a character who has some depth to them doesn't immediately mean it being out of character.

no i agree that she definitely isn't as 2d as i was saying, i was just making a generalization and that she doesn't seem greedy enough to want to bring such things into this economy. it also looks like she taught younger people in her past life so it seemed rather odd to me. from what you've seen of her, do you think she would be the type to want to start doing shady business? probably not

just wanted to say that this is in my opinion, i'm sure what everyone interprets characters in different ways, and that there's no right or wrong way to think about a character, this is just kind of how i think of her from what i've seen (=・ω・=)

Her talking about how different kinds of fraud work isnt shady buisness though. It wasnt like she was telling the merchant girl to commit fraud, she was just showing her how these big corpos keep perfect records and get more investors by manipulating their data. This enlightens the girl and gets her to look at mc in a favorable light, I dont get how this is out of character for the mc when she has already been established to know when to use her smarts and when to be compassionate.

she's indirectly suggesting her to do it. the conversation basically went "well taking investments is risky because if you fuck up somewhere it's over for you" and then she was like "oh well why don't they do fraud,,, i mean creative accounting". this kind of stuff is very grey area irl, and the merchant obviously doesn't know what this stuff is (she had to ask about it), so I think it's kind of strange. as a teacher, one thing to learn is to be careful about what you say so that others don't get the wrong idea. furthermore, she began to talk about shell companies. why wouldn't she stop at just accounting fraud, which was at least related to the previous topic. it seems more like this is the author's attempt at making her seems smart, but it's all a little strange. the result as far as the story goes seems to just be that the merchant likes her better and will take the investment (? i rmr they used a diff word but sorry i forgot lol), and i doubt the author will spend time for the merchant's business, but this scene was just very jarring to me

this is in the area of speculation, but i feel like this kind of "creative accounting" is not a thing in this world yet, hence that merchant not knowing despite coming from a big trading family. sorry if this is just a jumble of words, i don't think it was supposed to be taken like this haha

Uhm yes fraud exists in this world??? How did you not pick up on that??? Merchant girl doesnt know how the fraud works, thats why mc is telling her about it. Basically merchant girl sees mc as just another spoiled noble, mc wants her to take her seriously. So, she tells her how rival companies are able to seem so pristine and grow so much seemingly miraculously, basically fraud and how they circumvent the laws of the empire. This shows how it isnt that merchant girl's abilities are lacking, it's just that rival companies do shady stuff to seem better, earning mc merchant girl's respect and opening merchant girl's eyes to how buisness actually works. There is no insinuating that they should do the same.

mb, the reading comprehension devil struck me and forgot about that cuz i didn't feel like reading back lol. i do think that it's still kind of an indirect suggestion to start doing it, though it might not be on purpose, which i forgot to mention the first time sry bout that. the original intent of the comment was to say that the topic took me off guard cuz i wasn't expecting anything like that (although it is an OI staple at this point so maybe i should know better lol), and although i do understand the author's intention, i still think it's kinda weird
