This is just my theory, but what if Han Gyul (uke) is dumb (I'm sorry I have to say it like that, lol) and continues to fall deeper for Eunhan (seme) even after Eunhan keeps letting him down? And keep doing bad things to him. Perhaps this is due to the influence of a spirit that binds them together, even though they aren't meant to be.
Then, after Han Gyul discovers the truth, the effect of the spirit wears off, and he suddenly realizes how foolish he has been all this time.
[Spoiler ahead]
I read the raw and loved it when Han Gyul left Korea, leaving Eunhan to suffer (It serves him right!) I'm looking forward to seeing more of Han Gyul in Season 2; I really enjoy the revenge arc. Season 2 will definitely showcase Han Gyul's villainous side( I hope so) —hell yeah!

I like it when the author tries to rationalize their top character being such a red-flag character just so we as the readers can sympathize with the top and hope the uke can help him out of his suffering or maybe can change him into a better person OR even better make him as green as forest type.
Like, I am already fed up too much with this kinda story pattern and despite that, here I'm enjoying the drama and story since I adore the couple so much and just because they are soooo my taste :)) *sipping tea

I mean at first Jinwoo is hating daehan's guts so much, having bad impression at Daehan, rejecting him hard, and choose not to interact with Daehan at all. BUT NOW??? He fell harderrrrr, and having a misunderstanding that Daehan is king someone, want to touch him more and telling Daehan to not doing any relationship (romanticaly) with anyone other than him. Like whaattt?? Jinwoo easly flipping to the opposite way is so funny to me I'm laauungghiinggg no hate for him, he just innocent yet pervy guy who wants to be loved awwwww
Oh no... oh shit... I had no idea Seo-in was so damn domestic, and it’s just so damn cute and pure! And I don’t understand why his stepbrother is acting so devilishly and dragging Seo-in into hell. WHAT THE HELL IS HIS PROBLEM?! I really hate him so much because all these misunderstandings cause Seo-in and Yeongwoon so much suffering
dunno, just imagine you suffer from a serious illness (pain, angst to die) and your mother brings in somebody who looks like you, a replacement when you are dead... in my opinion the mother, the parents are at fault. in the end, he is still a child and not an adult (and he will never be).
but that doesn't justify what he did but ok
all the mess started when they where very little. if a 6, 7 or 10 years old kid is very bad... do you want to put it in a prison cell? you want a little kid to die bec. its bad? and now... how old are they? 14 or 16? of course he is not innocent anymore. from victim to culprit happends fast...
didn't say i want him dead or to be put in a prison lol. i know he's a child, but what will happened later will LITERALLY traumatized another child, hence i said just bc he's a "CHILD" doesn't mean all the bad things he's done should be justified. i was agreeing with u that the parents are fault so
