I thinks someone mentioned this once but I agree with it. Claude used magic to erase his memories of his daughter and when he "meets" her, she's basically a stranger claiming to be his daughter. He feels no connection to her, and there was black/dark magic making him feel comfortable with the other. While the dad here has been her "dad" (blood doesn't always make a person a dad) the whole time and she has been a devoted and faithful daughter and he is still an ass. So far as we know the only magic helping the other "daughter" is making her look like a summoner. And like the beginning where the knight is saying she shouldn't be excuted cause she didn't know she was the "fake" daughter so why should she be beheaded. So I think that is why people hate this guy and love Claude. Sorry its long.
