The novel gave Serenia a HE, but Daisy ended up with a BE (/TДT)/ RIP. Hopefully the side stories will make up for it somehow.
but
I can’t understand why Serenia’s parents died in a carriage accident—after all, her father was a duke and a skilled swordsman. He should have survived; it just doesn’t make sense. And why did a wizard try to kill og and current Serenia using a cursed doll? What was the motive behind that? I read the whole novel and still couldn’t find any clue#-.-)

Am I the only one who didn't like her making Daisy a maid instead of letting her stay as a friend?

High society unfortunately doesn’t work that way. You can’t be a friend of a commoner unless they were a wealthy merchant who had an equivalent income as a low ranking noble. There’s a lot of strict rules about nobility and “fraternising with the lower classes” and they exist to today in any country with a royal family and nobility still intact. Having her as a maid is a really good way to have her stay but also give her an opportunity to marry above her social station. Some really competent knights can earn a low ranking title and butlers/secretaries are usually nobles so being friendly with them can open doors for you as a commoner to a higher station, either through marriage or business. This was actually the kindest thing to do outside of buying her a noble title (the emperor wouldn’t have approved it so that wouldn’t work.)

Yeah I get your point, and nobility rules are def strict — but I guess it’s kinda my fault for hoping they’d become friends lol. Like… her loved ones literally died in the OG plot for the OG FL (even if Daisy wasn’t a bad person), so keeping her that close as a personal maid felt more like lowkey surveillance than actual kindness. And idk, wouldn’t that risk exposing their plans?? It just didn’t feel like real trust or friendship. Plus they just met — she’s a random stranger fleeing assassins, so “raising her status” that fast feels weird and unrealistic tbh.( ̄∇ ̄")

I too wouldn’t trust any book character I read. Unreliable narrators exist so it makes sense she’s wary. Even if it feels unrealistic to you, it’s because you aren’t in high society nobility. The current king of my country actually wanted to marry someone below his station and was forced into a loveless marriage because he couldn’t break the rules. His wife was known for her many many affairs but still a woman of higher status was allowed but a lower status wasn’t. When she died, he said fuck it and married the woman he loved anyway but the royal family still made it known she wasn’t welcome. He’s only king now because his mother died and his brother is known for a criminal act so no one would follow him. I’m telling this story because it happens even today that people choose high society and its rules over their own personal beliefs and judgements because that’s what is expected of them. It’s actually really rare to find a noble or royal who can choose to do something they’d like to do without having to think of the rules. They work fast cause they have money and workers to make it happen fast. It’s a different world to the one we live in, that’s all.

here is review from one of reader's
spoilersss!!!!
The male lead's calm obsession is really scary, but also good..ㅋㅋㅋ
Until the middle part, I really thought the two were half-siblings, so I was like, "Oh my, what should I doㅜㅜ", but when they said it wasn't, I was like, "Well, then that's how it is..."
The ending was also a great lingering feeling, and I really liked it. As the person below commented, the female lead didn't love enough to embrace everything.. So I understood that choice, and I liked that it wasn't a happy ending because they weren't siblings. It makes no sense to fall in deep love after only sleeping a few times in such a short period of time. There are a lot of these kinds of developments in romance dramas these days, but... The male and female protagonist's fathers are truly trash that can't be recycled, so when the male protagonist's older sister gets angry and asks why her father doesn't die, it's so pitiful and I can relate to her feelings... He only gave irreparable wounds to both his wife and his mistress's childrenㅡㅡ Why didn't he discipline them? I like it because it's clean without a side story. However, as some reviews have said, I felt it was a bit disappointing that the situation was explained through dialogue, and I wish there had been a part where the male protagonist's emotions were dealt with in detail, so I'm taking off one star.
im not sure but this is another review from ridi "I was so curious about the ending that I bought it and watched it even though I don't like sad endings. By the way, it wasn't incest in the end (the male lead doesn't care at all even if it was), and it was a sad ending due to the female protagonist's choice."
