Not low ranking...the one who replaced ah duo...she appeared in earlier chapters dressed very extravagantly

Maomao said the consort has a taste for extravagant clothing and makeup. So much so that she even looks different each time she is seen and it cost her a night with the emperor since the first night he visited her he couldn't recognize her.

OMG I knew Shisui was sus but even I didn't expect this!!!! What a twist! She does seem to have some favour for Maomao because of her useful intellect but I fear what trials she'll bring for Maomao.
Especially since the "strong merchant" connection brought so much danger to the inner court and high consorts.
