A girl can dream that there’s no romance in her action but at least this chick isn’t annoying like other love interests in action ( ´ ▽ ` )
He just wants to be friends?? He likes her and as he is not the affectionate type you can see that through his behavior. He put a shadow to protect her, she pops in his mind, he didn't wanted her in his guilt because he thinks is dangerous for her, one day he got free time and she was the first person that comes in his mind, he will look for her after the time traveling and will make her follow in love with him again and eventually marry her and have together a son. So yeah just friends lol

It's just that, those actions are very subtle, ya know? Most people are only in it for the action and label it as plain shounen. But introducing love makes it more mature and complex, kinda like Seinen. But solo leveling actually wants to appeal to a larger audience (which it does), so things that involve abstract feelings like romantic affection are developed very very slowly. Just like how the portrayal of loyalty, bravery and growth was in the beginning shown as a gradual transition. Most people won't just read into Sung's actions and understand it is love, because everything he says and does thus far (like the manhwa) is straightforward . Now! Ngl, I got pretty annoyed at the people that were commenting last few chapters, that their romance was unnecessary and that they were annoyed by hunter Cha...it's like...wha? Hunter cha annoys you for what? Curve your extreme fan behavior lol

I am here personally for the action too, but the bit of romance doesn't bothers me at all as is not the main point in the story. I love Cha and I love that Jinwoo around the people he cares he shows some emotion (like sad, anger, kindness, soft etc). I don't get why people are so negative when romance is introduced in those kind of stories, do they all want our mc in the end to be alone? Usually if there is not an ending with a closure that means most probably the mc will die. And another thing bothers me is that people don't appreciate the hard work the author and the artist have put to creat something that brings us joy. Like wtf you don't like it move one or write a better story if you can. That was the creation of the author and that is the way he want his character to develop..

I feel like people are negative towards love interests in action is because a lot of the time the love interest is annoying and only knows how to bicker with the protagonist or it becomes a harem. I know I got really anxious about reading anything with a male protagonist because of that cause the things I had watched and read sexualised along with objectifying women and made them into stereotypes, it’s also why I’ve only started reading things with male protagonists recently.
What’s the use of capturing a dying man when right after you assume the mc has ran away? If you think he’s ran away then the man is gonna be no use for either bait nor threatening, why not just stick around for a couple days waiting to see if he comes back then deciding from there?
I really like how there’s no romance, how he just wants to be friends and she’s ok with that you know?
uhh spoiler ig
they get married and have a kid in the future. so no they arent just friends.
