I knew the damn co worker was gonna mess everything up! Ugh, I really hate this guy. He's so selfish and manipulative! Especially the fact that he found out how he has been manipulated by his father and goes ahead and does this anyway....so messed up.

I really hope that Darin can get some help. He clearly has some major issues he needs to work out...The is so much emotional abuse going on in this manga. Honestly, Darin really needs psychiatric help. His obsession with Berry is at a serious level. He completely lacks empathy and has serious anxiety. I actually really love his character and his involvement in the story but I hope his mental illnesses get addressed responsibly in this manga. Berry has finally said that she saw that he had a mental disorder. Here's to hoping to author addresses this properly and that our baby gets the help he needs ╥﹏╥

I love the last bit. "...I put it back on with a beef and rice bowl"

Viira December 24, 2015 6:18 am

It's really sad what happened to him... Basically he forgot everything as a result of blocking out a bad memory of abuse? I don't know if that is what I was supposed to get from this, but thats what it seemed like to me... Poor kid.

Viira December 13, 2015 9:11 pm

This is getting really interesting! I can't wait for the next chapter

Viira November 28, 2015 5:27 am

Is nobody else gonna talk about how twisted his new coworker is!? He's giving awful advice and teaching poor vulnerable mc who is still figuring out his feelings and how to go about them to be manipulative! Don't fall too deep! I want you to treat Sam well ╥﹏╥

    NeonTech November 28, 2015 10:47 am

Well the co worker doesn't know the whole situation of his love interest being a vampire battling life death situation for blood. I'm thinking co worker thinks it's something simple like small acts of kindness that the person can live without. I don't think he means any harm yet?? Maybe in my opinion hopefully later love triangle

    Viira November 28, 2015 9:17 pm

From how the co worker is talking and acting, it really does not look to me like he is thinking of it that way. (but even if he was, its still a mean thing to suggest somebody do to the person they like) He even told him to steal the person he liked away if they were in a relationship, which is really bad advice. Nobody should do that. It isn't always easy but you should try to be happy for the person if they are happy. Sabotaging relationships to get what you want is twisted. And following that mentality, he goes on to basically say make them dependent on you. That is twisted. He is teaching him to manipulate the other person and it could escalate since he grew up in a house where he was emotionally manipulated and abused. Based on the author's coding of the people around our MC, this coworker is supposed to be a troublemaker, and he certainly is shaping out to be.

I don't think you've read enough Yaoi if this is what you consider twisted. There is a very small element of it being shown though the owner of such behavior is Min Gyeom. Slowly with each passing chapter, he will evolve into the sadist he was born to be. I can't wait.

    Viira November 30, 2015 4:18 am

Okay, so because there are more twisted bl stories out there that means that the characters with twisted personalities in this story can be written off? That's probably one of the dumbest things I've heard. Just because it isn't as twisted doesn't mean it isn't twisted at all. By the same logic people living at the poverty line "aren't even that poor" because there are other people worse off. One doesn't invalidate the other. BUT I wasn't saying the co worker being twisted is bad, I understand it is part of the story and Im all for it taking the story where it needs to go. I'm sick of stupid "yaoi fangirls" commenting on stories that people put a lot of work into by just saying "fuck already" or them writing off characters that are meant to be flawed. We're supposed to see them as flawed, thats how the author wrote the story, but people will just ignore it and post stupid shit about how they don't care they just want them to have sex. If thats what you want go watch some fucking porn, I'm here for the story. Thats what makes the sex and every other part of the relationship interesting.

Yeah, it's definitely messed up, lol. When I read it, his "make him dependent on you" instantly reminded me of the part in Madoka Magica where Kyoko tells Sayaka to make Kyousuke totally helpless and thus dependent on her by breaking both his arms and legs and permanently crippling him so that he has no choice but to rely on her. Making someone dependent on you definitely isn't the tenet of a healthy relationship, and I really think the coworker has an ulterior motive (maybe to break Min Gyeom down by sabotaging his relationship with Sam, then swooping in to take him for himself?). I still love both their characters, of course! XD

And yeah, saying this isn't as twisted as some other BLs and is therefore not twisted at all is like saying murdering someone is really, really bad and messed up, so kicking a puppy is perfectly moral. XP

    Anonymous November 30, 2015 4:58 pm

Well, I don't think he meant it in that psycho way because to make someone that emotionally dependent on you means you have to break them mentally first. Otherwise, it means that person must have had feelings for the third party already... Which is to say, no one likes being dumped or cheated on, but the coworker guy is still not a manipulative psycho and merely the typical player who's never had a relationship beyond being the meddling third party, that's why he's giving that advice, because it's the only way he knows.

Considering the themes at play in this story, I'm pretty sure the author is making him out to be a twisted person. I don't feel your opinion on his character to be grounded in what we know about him so far at all. There is nothing wrong with that, that is his character. It just worries me that people are trying to say that it isn't that bad, because its not healthy and if people accept these things as the norm that will be really sad and could have negative effects on their views of the world and could end up hurting them. Nobody is saying he is a psycho, but he definitely isn't a person used to non-abusive relationships. Manipulating a person is abuse.

I've noticed manga sometimes use over the top language to talk about normal stuff, like for example when they want to "monopolize" someone or have become "greedy," just to mean that they really like them, or saying someone "gets their hopes up" as if they were deliberately leading them on, when they're just acting "kind" to them. That's why I say wait and see.

    Viira December 1, 2015 3:48 am

Well, here's the thing though, I'm pretty sure that isn't the case. First of all, its the cultural difference. Im pretty sure this is Korean, not Japanese, so you can't compare it to manga that is written be a Japanese person with a Japanese mind set. If its Korean, they tend to have troublesome characters like the coworker to help push the story and cause drama. But secondly, I have read hundreds of manga and manhwa, and I have not seen that to be the case unless the character was meant to be that type of character who IS a really good person, and anytime they do anything slightly bad they feel horrible and beat themselves up for it while readers are there to acknowledge that they're just being human and shouldn't be expected to be so perfect. Also, I can't see a huge difference between monopolizing and greed, they're part of the same family. You can be greedy without monopolizing but they're either in different context or the same. If you think a lot of the stuff you see in manga is normal I really worry because when I read manga I often step back and realize how unnaturally an author has portrayed something or how something bad has been normalized. For example, rape being a very over used trope in yaoi. Some people stop thinking of the characters and will write off the abusive behavior they see. There are some manga that handle it well because they're acknowledge rape for what it is and the story is about the twisted stuff going on, but some authors use it to force two characters together or may not even realize what is considered rape and write a story with rape in it unintentionally. Because of that they may not realize the stipulations it has on the story or its readers and readers start to blur that line as well. Thats why I think its important to be able to see what the author is doing and to critique the work. With that in mind, I still think the co worker is supposed to play the role of being twisted. He's gonna be used to get the story going and cause drama, but don't write him off as just that. Understand he is supposed to be a flawed character and like him for that while acknowledging what role he plays.

Wait so did Kaneki's mom actually beat him and he had suppressed those memories or what? Im excited about Kaneki being back too but why is nobody talking about this!? His mother was such an important figure and had such a big impact on him and his ideas of what it is to love somebody and to be loved so it matters if she actually beat him. That could add a whole new layer to "Instead of hurting others, let yourself become the one that is hurt". And maybe she never even said that to him, maybe its something he kept telling himself because of her beating him? I don't know!

    rotten November 20, 2015 2:10 am

yeah, i was thinking the same thing.maybe its something kaneki said to himself rather then something his mother said to him.
to all those you are celebrating kaneki coming back well and good, but i hope you to pay attention to the fact that our favorite protagonist is actually suicidal and always have been.if kaneki is back like this then i would have preferred that he continued as haise rather then kaneki because as haise at least he had some dream and hopes (as he said in pg 15 i mistakenly began to once again desire). wouldnt you too, if you really like kaneki.
i hope somebody could reach him and give him a bit of hope. i need hide to come back. almost the same way i wanted kaneki to come back but now i am not too sure. the way kaneki came back and the way sui sensei is hell bent on degrading kaneki and destroying him mentally the best i could hope for cant possibly occur(⊙…⊙ )
the way this is going i am pretty sure hide ended up becoming a experiment subject for aogiri tree or really did die in tokyo ghoul or something really horrible happened to him (/TДT)/

    rotten November 20, 2015 2:18 am

also i would like to mourn haise after all in a way he died
