1.first of all she is not being hypocritical, she genuinely loves ain as her own kid cz she always wanted a family but couldn't have one, and her inner thoughts are about how cute he is and how much she loves him.

2. she hasn't just shoved the father aside because she can't 'change' him, but because he scared the sht out of her, he even didn't care that the corpse dragging scared her.

3. all she thinks is that the duke hates her cz in the story the duke didn't care for his wife so why should he start now.

4. she's very straightforward, from the start her goal was to care for ain and later that goal became to protect him and give him the childhood that he deserves.

i don't know where all this hate towards to FL in the comments is coming from, but in the main story the villain is Ain, this webtoon's title is became the villain's MOTHER not the villain's WIFE, the duke isn't the main concern of the main story Ain is, this webtoon is centered around how she diverges Ain's path away from villainy, her romance with the duke is secondary
