SPOILERS
The mangaká wasn't able to make me emotionally invested in the story. I honestly don't give a fuck if the uke is going to kill himself or not. Also, I'm not buying the main couple too, I kinda don't care if the seme will be able to save the uke or not. There is not a single build up. How can we understand and care about this so deep love for the sensei if the mangaka hasn't showed us nothing about their relationship or why he is so important for the uke. If it's just because he feels guilty for what happened to him... very shallow reason to kill himself.
How can we root for the seme if his love for the uke makes zero sense? Just because he was crying and sad and had green eyes he falled in love with him? That's BS. All they do is have sex and the seme acts more like a stalker than someone that is in love or worried about the uke. Besides, what happened in the last three years? What is the dynamic of their relationship? So many plot points are unexplained or left for us to fill it ourselves.
And the uke clearly doesn't love the seme. This manga has to end in tragedy because if the uke suddenly realizes that he is in love with the seme and decides to stop with his plan and keep on living... that will make zero sense without a good build up. Honestly, it's a really weak storytelling, the art is pretty and the sex scenes are ok. But the plot is senseless and undeveloped. I'm really pissed because the first chapter had some potential, but this will probably end with tragedy with the seme ending up a mess or with the seme "saving" the uke through "love" and making him change his mind about dying. Anyway, I hope the people that are enjoying this manga don't hate on me for being disappointed (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
yeah this story sucks
SPOILERS ABOUT CHAPTER 3 AND 4
Some readers seems to be mad that Yuuta molested (and that depends on the point of view, it doesn't seems to be a negative experience for Kyouhei) the uke, but Takara kinda did the same. Kyouhei also didn't know about sex very well and Takara gave him a handjob with the purpose of "teaching a country boy" the same way Yuuta did when they were kids. The difference is that they were young and Yuuta can be forgiven for what he did on the lack of knowledge of what his actions meant, he even waited a long time and never did it again with Kyouhei.
But Takara forced himself on Kyouhei without making his feelings and intentions clear twice when it was clear that there was a gap of experience between the two. Sure, Takara does seems to care more about consent than Yuuta (he stopped when the uke fell asleep) and Kyouhei seems to be reciprocating Takara feelings and sexual intentions, but honestly, they aren't very different from each other. If the mangaka had kept Kyouhei on the country this manga would be just a little different because Yuuta would be the seme and we as readers would be fine with that. Here he is just a plot device to further speed things up between Takara and Kyouhei.
So, if people will hate on Yuuta we also need to hate on Takara. But, since I don't hate either of them, and I'm able to just enjoy a fictional history, I'm cool with all this. But I'm more on Yuuta side because I'm a sucker for unrequited love.
But since it's a prologue I guess it's fine how it ended
Still, the seme was a asshole for doing that to the uke
I hope he can somehow make it up
Btw, this author isn't the same author of Penguin Loves Mev, it's a different Penguin.
The one that made Ghost Child is the same one that made Boarding House Number 5, so I think Mangago should fix this
Thank you for updating the series. I hope things start to work out in Ivan favor.
