Lol it's really laughable people calling this yaoi racist. Why can't they just read it normally like most of us do and not interpret or associate it to real life. It's really stupid if you think about it.
it may blaze a trail for further racially and culturally inappropriate works, until such misconceptions gets normalised. this is inappropriate in terms of the ignorance it had in its vision of "tribes" and its going to be worrying if more works spawn out from being influenced by this. So its kinda sad if don't care about the messages, don't care about the treatment and representation of contacting uncontacted tribes, don't even care if tribes exist and see tribal themes as smthg to spice your sex life. Its a shame. What a waste. It's not just about trying to gain knowledge from a work, its considering the ethical nature of a work with our cognition and mental judgement. Its like saying people read Mein Kampf for fun and shouldn't bitch about it. People don't get influenced because they purposefully look for ideas in a story. Stories impart ideas subconsiously through having the reader experience its world and the values in these worlds.
