I had the same thought. I think its Kinda strange how bad people are often portrayed as ugly in mangas (everywhere in general). My father would say their appearence is a physical Manifestation of their immorality (wtf). Why do people always assume that you have to be ugly to be evil? If she was portrayed as beautiful, would people hate her as much as they do? A predator is a predator regardless of how they Look, it wouldnt really make a difference.

There's this thing called physiognomy, ofc it's not scientific and I didn't agree with this. But it's kinda understandable that your father has that perception. Lots of people do. And you figured out the reason why people often make their villains ugly, because if they were attractive, people will be sympathetic toward them and not really supporting the protagonist. Happened all the time.

A friend of mine asked me if I knew this manhwa where it's about a guy and his girlfriend, but his girlfriend turns into a hot guy and how their life/relationship proceeds after that idk that's the description she gave. Bc the trauma is never acknowledged and the whole thing comes off as easy to get over and shit... No. If you gotta write rape you gotta write it as horrible as it is and not even think of building a romantic relationship around it ╮(￣▽￣)╭ own the fucked up topic you chose and stick with it, I'd rather a sad relastic healing story than watching a guy fall in love with his rapist yet again

More like: if the story is great, I don't care (Royal Servant). If the story doesn't have plot apart from the usual rape to love plot, it's all the more reason to drop it (lots of mangas out there)
To sum it up, I don't care if there's rape. But when the plot has too much flaws and is actually boring/cliché, then the rape becomes a problem.
Different people's moral works different ways I suppose. I have never bat an eyelash over problematic shit in fiction is all. I did rather use that time to actually support rl rape victims and get educated on other societal matters rather than crying over fictional ones.
