He explained in the first chapter why he went to the juvenile detention. There are 3 separate Manga called Chikin "Drop" Zenya no Monogatari, Drop, and Drop OG about Tatsuya's life when he was very young up to the point before he got arrested, you can check those Manga out. The first one has never been translated though, but you can download the raw from the websites.

I’ve always avoided this manga bc I assumed it had multiple yaoi stories in it since the title was “BL Motel”....I usually like it when a manga focuses on one couple... THANKFULLY, I arbitrarily picked it up just to see if there might’ve been some good bl stories!!!
